Made A Huge Amend!

Today I made one of the biggest amends on my 8th step list.

I stole some $$ out of the register when I worked for this restaurant chain back in the early 90's.
Since all of the managers are different now I knew I would have to go to the CEO of the company (its a local one here in town) and give him the $$ I took.

I've been praying and procrastinating about this for about 7 monthsand today I finally ballzed up and called him for an appt.

So I get there and explain step 9 and why I'm there..... turns out he has a son in treatment whose having a hard time with it..... and wants to hear how I got into AA!

So we end up talking about recovery for 20 minutes and I realize God has put me there to give this man hope that the program can work.

Unbelievable!!! Then I go to meet my sponsor @ a meeting and I end up chairing.What an awesome day!

I'll tell you....I was really nervous driving to that man's office today, but the feeling when I walked out of there was incredible.

Just thought I'd pass on a positive amends story.

Avondale Girl, that's a great story, I'm so glad you shared it... Zac is right, there really are no coincidences in this world, mitakuye oyasin as the Lakota say, all related. But how brave of you to take that step and go through with it - I admire you so much for doing that. Good for you!

Carolyn.....first let me say, "Wow"! What a scary experience that must have been for you. You have alot of courage my friend! Way to go! Everything does happen for a reason and I am sure you really helped out his family!

Hi there, I was going to post exactly what Zac did, I believe there are no coincidences...I'm working thru my 9th step too...I'm planning my amends to my ex-Inlaws real soon, and following the direction of my Sponsor in regard to it. Little by little, I am chipping away at that list of people I need to make amends to, and am currently whittling my way thru my financial amends. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us...that is just awesome.

It seems to give courage to tackle other issues in my life; or not let them bother me so much ....depending on what we're talking about.
