Those who chose to go on a meth or subox. program may I ask why? I ask this for my own personal use as I am thinking of it . I was firmly against any maintenance program but am now rethinking that.

Most people here know that Ive been on MM for over 20 yrs & have turned my life totally around with the help of this medicine,therapy, and support from family and friends.
Now, I was a bad junkie -in and out of courts and county jails, so everyone does things differently. In fact -it was a NY judge who recommended that I find a mdone clinic and work some type of recovery program.
While some people use methadone treatment to detox from heroin,some of us continue their maintenance on methadone as a means to keep them from returning to heroin.I am on a public clinic in East Harlem where, methadone is dispensed at daily basis. I now get 6 bottles a week and soon will only have to go 2 x a month just to pick up.Not having to go every day and be around that environment is a big thing.
Im on a advocacy committee .we meet about once a month and try to help others adjust to a new life on this treatment, without continuing to use dope.
We also work in the community to try to get a little support from the many business- ( I wish this was a paying job- but thats another post)
Anyway, I dont want to go thru my long story- going on MM is certainly not for everyone and I wouldnt recommend it for everyone. Especially now>- when I got on ,there was no sub, or bupe drugs to help- it was only cold turkey, mdone detox, no drugs were released yet to assist the opiate addict.
Now there are other medical treatments, so you have choices.

Hey you still around. Did you get the answer to you question. You asked me if i have any support from the family. Answer yes and no.
My dad smoked weed and mandrax since before i was born and he left us 10 years ago and has never contacted ever since that day.
My mom started smoking weed when i was 2 she never wanted children she is currently in a mental instatute she tryed to stab me 2 months ago she lost it.
I have 2 brothers younger than me my one brother is 14 and goes to school and my other brother is married and has 1 boy he supports me and my other brother ive been staying with him for about one and a half monthes. T he only reson he took me in is because i stoped whoring and using drugs so i geuss it is a good thing.
I sighned my children over to my ex today my son is so mad at me so i feel a bit down.

Sighning my kids over was very hard i cryed all night and then cryed some more.
When i was done crying i just wanted to go get f***ed off my face excuse my language but that is how i felt i dont know any other way to shack the pain so insted i got drunk i know that is not not good but it helped.
I dont realy have anyone that i can talk to so the support would be great thanks for the offer. Now that i know that my boys are not coming home i just want to use more is that strange? lts like i have no reson to stop using the only thing i need to be carefull of is myself i. Im going to try hang in but will see.
The depresion and lonleyness gets to me all the time and the only friends i have are drug addicts and that wont work.
