As you know I normally do not post over here since I am a recovering alcoholic and coke addict, but my reading for this morning was the following (and I thought it might be appropriate here) - take what you like from it and leave the rest:
"We began to see that the world and its people had really dominated us. Under that unhappy condition, the wrongdoing of others, fancied or real, had power to actually kill us, because we could be driven back to drink (drugs) through resentment. We saw that these resentments must be mastered, but how? We could not wish them away. This was our course: We realized that the people who wronged us were perhaps spiritually sick. So we asked God to help us show them the same tolerance, pity, and patience that we would cheerfully grant a sick friend. Today, we avoid retaliation or argument. We cannot treat sick people that way. If we do, we destroy our chance of being helpful. We cannot be helpful to all people, but at least God will show us how to take a kindly and tolerant view of each and every one." AA Big Book, pp 66-67.
Love, patience, tolerance and being of maximum service to all my fellows increases my chances of staying clean and sober; it solidifies the spiritual foundation that I've worked so hard these past two years to build. Blessings to all.
Thank you for sharing that today, VWgirl.

Hi,
Awsome post, and yes I read it. Part of my daily routine is reading and rereading the first 164 pages. Any and all lengths, that what I told myself, doing it is how it works. "I Can't, He Can, So I Think I'll Let Him"...1,2,& 3, pretty simple. Keep It Simple, thats what I try to keep doin'. Getting out of my own way has made life so much easier...Thanks VWGirl, great post.
Take care........Bob
