First time on this forum site and it's good to know that places like this exist. I have been on Methadone for about 5 years now and it's been working great for me! For about the past 2 years I have been on a 13 take home program, so just going to the clinic twice a month. I have been an excellent patient with no dirty urines in about 3+ years. For anyone that go to the clinics and have take homes you are probably familiar with Call Backs, well I had one recently and because I have a cheap cell phone that has problems I missed the call that they made to me to come in. So when I went in on my normal day they told me I had missed the call and that they are pulling my Take Homes from me. Only because I have been a good patient they told me I would have to come now everyday for 30 days and providing I have no dirty urine, which I no I won't they will give me back 3 Take Homes, then go another 30 days with a clean urine and they will give me another 3 Take Homes, they are stopping at 6 Take Homes for a while they said. I normally wouldn't have a problem taking the "punishment" but I don't have a car now, so for me to get there everyday is going to be almost impossible. I used Uber on the 2 days a month I had to go but no way could I do it everyday for a month.
My question is if I call my Primary doctor to see if she could prescribe it to me, would that be feasible? My dose is 190mgs and I know at the pharmacy they sell in tablet form 5mg and 10mg. If I was able to do it this way would I have to take all 19 10mg tablets at once or would it most likely be spread out over the day?
Has anyone else done anything like this?

Hi there I'm tinker and if you read scared and in the dark post under methadone you'll read my similar problem with take homes I had 14.but anyway back to your problem first I don't think your primary care Dr can prescribe methadone for addiction issues fda laws r very strict about who can dispense for treatment and pain management can give it for pain only What I did because I was so discouraged with being lied on I found a great Dr who prescribes suboxone but you would have to get under 30 mugs then nothing for 72 hrs. Aries, I highly highly doubt your dr will prescribe you 190mgs- I was lucky to find one that did take me on at 120, but that was back when they made the 40mgs wafers, so it was able ti be written 1tab 3x a day. Now they only make the 10mgs tabs ..so they'd have to write it something like 4.5 tabs 4x a day, and that's only 180 total. And I'm not sure if tyoud have any luck even finding a dr that would go for it at all...190mgs or 30mgs...it's tough now...I'm sorry. The dr I did get to do it I kinda cough in a compromising situation with a friend of mine that was a patient of his, so I used it...I didn't say anything- but I took her with me. Needless to say, he wrote he script, no questions asked. Good luck though! You may want to start tapering that dose some of your doing real well now. I made it all the way to 40mgs w/o any issues and was surprised as Hell. I then jumped at 40. "MY success story is posted " I'm soooo happy to off it! I'm feeling soooo freaking good now! LOVE IT.
