my first post, a little nervous...pls only kind words appreciated.........as a single parent of a 20 year old methadone addiction im very worried about the future. Weight has dropped immensely but I have my child back in many ways. kind, considerate, thoughtful but the doc wants to drop his dose and I'm very fearful. what happens now....another job lost.....sleeping all night and day again.....my child knows I love him dearly and have done whatever possible but the future is very scary.....any suggestions??
Prayers, hope and Faith. Maybe try to offer him NA meetings, and even thou I agree with tapering down off the Methadone until one day be completely off but even though the doc recommends it doesn't mean your son has to follow his orders. If your son would rather stay at that mg, then he doesn't have to go down. Ultimately it's your son's choice.

I'm surprised that someone on methadone is loosing weight ! I just keep getting heavier but I eat less,and less....maybe I'm sick.Because it don't make sence...
