i was so glad to hear from you guys last night. when you guys call it is like a breath of fresh air blowing through the house. my oldest picked up the phone at first, looked at the caller id and said it was my friend fron jersey, wow to think i have a friend in new jersey, that is awesome, and for her to realize that. she is so amazingly smart and grown up, yet when it thundered this morning she came and got into bed with daddy, and her 20 years old. i cannot tell you how it made me feel. i just pulled her to me and cuddled her tight to let her know everythig was going to be o.k. she has to go to school this morning at about 11:00. i have to call a guidence counselor (sp) today for an appointment for evaluation so he can help me see what would be a good field to go into. so i may (will) be going back to school soon and learn maybe how to better myself instead of f****** things up so bad. well i gotta go

I had thought about finishing college but I can't handle the debt right now......the student loans would kill me. Want the kids to get the chance to go, I can wait, you are never to old to learn something new. Love the story about your daughter, every once in a while mine sneak in during a bad storm. Thought they would grow out of that......I guess they never do.

no mollyjean i haven't yet decided on any major, i most likely go to a vo-tech at my age, most likely get with a counselor and go through evaluation to see what my most productive skills would be, i have done a diverse amount of things since high school(grad in 1977) so i have alot to choose from. i am looking though at maybe warehouse mgmt, and merchandising (sp) i don't know but i do know this it will be something in the management field, no matter what i got into after h.s. i always ended up in mgt. position. so i guess i have a knack for leading. not to be bragging or anything so pray for my in my decision

luckily we have a hope scholoship through the lottery trhat will help me immensly my daughter has the hope and pell. she gets 450 dollars reimbersment at the end of each quarter so basically shr gets paid to go to school

Johnny- You and I are the SAME age. I've been in the business world for many many years. If you want advice, I can give it. The story about your daughter is sweet. My little 2 (yes 2) year old get's into bed with us and I actually hold her hand sometimes. I also have a 4 year old daughter and a 19 year old one..so we are in the same boat!
danny what business are you in can you help me get assesed into what field to go into. i am the kinda guy who can't get it going myself but if you point me in the right direction i can take the ball and run with it. please any help would be appreciated. actually the thought of school again after so many yrs. scares the h*** out of me

Johnny, I'm in the computer field, but I've also run companies. It really depends on what interest you and how much money you want to make. What I have found through my long career is DON'T get into something that will bore you..big mistake. What you really need to decide is what will really turn you on in your career. Don't worry about the school stuff. Thats friggin good for you. After being in the IT industry for 20+ years, I've been thinking about going back to school and getting my law degree. And you know my age. So your first step is to think really hard about what YOU want to do, then GO BACK TO SCHOOL and do it..you can do it my man..
