Hi MistyEyes:
How much Percocet was your husband taking? Did he do a slow taper? What amount was he taking when he finally stopped? How's he doing now?
I've been on Percocet for 4 months following a back surgery and I'm desperately trying to get off it........I'd like to hear others experiences with it.
Thanks....
Lee
Hi, sorry it took so long.......
My husband was taking 12 to 15 a day, and on the bad days he started using dope too. It started by the doctors giving it for herniated discs. He just stopped cold turkey. He will be 72 hours drug free a 5 tonight. It has been really hard but he is getting by. He did not taper. We tried that already I held the pills because he asked me to help him. Thats when the herion entered the picture. He is posting how he feels under the name bad attitude.....he needed his own identy........you can see how he feels today by reading the earlier post.
Stay strong.......

Lee no one will be able to talk you into it. You have to decide that enough is enough. I think that because you came to this site that you are ready. I was telling my husband about your question and he said he doesn't think you will be that bad if it has only been a couple months. You might want to get some kind of help though so that you stay off. You see if you like how they make you feel, you know that high.......then you will need some help. If others read this help me explain this. I knew my husband had a prolbem the first time he took them, I mean they were for a legit reason and did help with the pain but he said wow these are great I have no pain and a good buzz going on. I sat back, watched and waited for almost 4 years for him to realize they were slowly killing him. I knew he had to decide to stop not me.
Like I told him no pain no gain!
Stay strong..........
