Hi I dont know if you guys would know of me Im usually on the pill board.But this is kinda an emergency as far as advise.I will try to make this a short story;
OK my bro in law is a VERY Bad Alcoholic.I mean he is to the point where his stool is black & tarry & he drinks about 15 hours out of a day.Now he knows hes dyen or I think he knows.So last Friday I think I drove him to the Hospital so he could check into the detox.Guys this man is in very bad shape.% mths ago he was in Albany Medical Center because of having seizures.anyways We thought he would check out the 2 day as is his habit.Well he didnt.he called maybe 15 minutes ago to say that the hospital is kicking him out because he doesnt have any medical coverage.He say they made an appointment for medicade for him.Now this is where I need advise.#1 Can a hospital do that.I mean I know for a fact that this man will grab a beer right after he leaves.When he & I talk I tell him the physical detox in a hospital is cake its the mental detox on the outside that is the hardest & longest.Please where can he turn for help.i got a real bad feeling that he may end up killing himself tonite.He has no place to stay,well he does but its with drinking buddies.Does anyone ANYONE at all know of help for him In ULSTER COUNTY NY I just need to help him I love his brither so much & hes already lost 3 people in his family to drinking.It would kill him to lose another brother.mj

That is very sad. Here I am following you to this board. Can someone have him baker acted? I don't know much about that but maybe someone else can jump in here..Especially if this man may be a threat to himself if he is released which he is being.. I would call the local police dept. and ask them for advice. Or the hospital directly there has got to be another option for him.

Yeah right now Im looking for free treatment centers in Ulster County NY.This guy cant even read to fill forms out.Im going to be very limited in the help I give which rae I know you can understand.But he has a habit of going in & checking himself out ya know???Im just on the net seraching.The BF is gonna call at noon so.But PLEASE ANY ADVISE WOULD BE HELPFUL<<<<mj
1.Call the police dept and ask them if he qualifies to be baker acted and how that works explain to them the entire situation and tell them he may be a threat to himself or other just ask them. They will tell you how to legally do something like that.
2. Call the hospital he is in or another treatment facility and ask their opinions.
