Well, I am a very emotional person and music touches me so deeply. Especially when I am down, it helps bring me back up. I like all kinds of music but tend to favor soft rock. I know, I'm a geek. But I love REO Speedwagon and Journey. So if anyone has any recommendations on music for me to try out please let me know. I also love other kinds of music so any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks guys!
Shelly

Whowa! Blast right from the 80's! You have to love the 80's!
BLUE OCTOBER....all the way. Lead singer is a recovering addict..and his music reflects all those emotions.

P.S. I too am a Journey and Reo speedwagen fan.....back in the day; so there's a good chance you'll like Blue October. Different from the old days..but hits the spot. My first concert ever was Journey, 100 degrees pregnant. and worth every exhausting minute...and yet when you see Blue October live...you feel you've come full circle.
Hi:
Love Blue October, the music does relate to addiction/recovery. For me, a 40something white girl, I'm all about hiphop, some rap, classic rock. Hiphop though, is energizing and puts me in a good mood. Outkast, Blackeyed Peas, or Fegies new solo, Eminem, the new Justin Timberlake, Christina Agulieria's back to basics is great, can't go wrong with any old Aerosmith, Stones, Zepplin.

Hey Shelly,
I'll be back on th road with Journey this summer. Gonna be for about three months. Good band, good crew and should be good times.Glad to see someone who still likes REO and Journey. Just about any kind of music that touches your soul is good. Music has been a part of me all of my life. I have been a musician for 30 years and my profession as an audio engineer keeps me surrounded by tunes all the time.

Side note to KEKE & GYAC,
I can't remember the eighties...I woke one day from a 10 year binge and it was 1992....Glad that part of me is over with. There was an old song by Pat Travers 'Snortin whiskey and drinkin' cocaine'....that about summed it up.
