My First Meeting - Well Not Really....

So you will NEVER believe this. I looked up NA meetings online, found a place 25 miles from home. Had it all planned out. It is snowing BAD here, but when I said that I don't like to drive in the snow, someone asked me if would have driven in the snow to get meds. That really made me think.
So I put on my hat, had my directions, and set off with 45min to get there.
about 5 miles into my drive I ran out of window fluid. Pulled into gas station, did my thing ect.
Got back on the highway and was pumped. I kept thinking about what I would say, what it would be like, and how much it would help.
So I followed the directions, and when I came to where said I should be - I'll just say that I wasn't at the correct address.
To tell you how determined I was to get there, I went to 5 different places to ask directions. At this point I was already about 25 minutes late. (but I figured they would not turn me away).
Anyway, when I finally found the correct location fo the address, (I was looking for suite #100) I just sat in front of the "shopping plaza".
I got out and looked for suite #100.
Now let me tell you, this was NOT a good neighborhood.
So I found suite #100 and it was a nail salon. Yes a nail salon.
I went into the bar next door, and at this point I didn't care if anyone new what I was looking for. I asked the bar tendor if there was an addiction meeting place there. He told me I was about 2 years late!
So I am really P.O., but not at myself. Just at the web site that directed me there.
What do you think about that???

and danny - thank you for that message. I will show my husband when he gets home in 20 minutes! It means a lot to me, and I am sure it will mean a lot to him!

Is anyone out there???
Hey brit......whats up? You ok..............
That's too bad about the meeting Britney, but I admire your determination. Some of the worst anger fits I've had were when I was looking for a meeting and couldn't find it. Go figure.

Have you checked your phone book for an NA phone number? Very often there is an NA number, and they have the latest locations for meetings. If not, try the Alcoholics Anonymous number -- there may be more AA meetings in your area, and the AA central service office may even have info on local NA meetings in addition to the AA meeting locations. Good luck. M.
