Just wanted to share what just happened...........My only brother who is a year older then me, and has done his fairshare of drugs himself.but has been clean and sober for about 2 or so years just called to check in with me..........he says .."hello is Traci there......I was like HELLO its me..he goes uh uhh...LOL yes sireee its me.....he said man you sound like my old sister.the one before you were using.......( sad how it starts so innocently thru doctors help)..well we had a few cries about all the sh** we have been thru and how the drugs numbed us of all our feelings........and how time will heal what damage was done..
He and I have had a few blown up nasty fights a few years back, which it has taken time to heal but we have been working on it.and mainly one reason was he met a younger lady .married and had a baby 4 months ago....all along he has been clean.I told him I know if he did it I can.........so we will be heading to the ranch this week end.maybe I will get on a horse maybe not.still a little leary about that since last time I tried.my leg gave out and could not get up.........just to be able to do all again wouold be nice but I know it need to take it slow.....and I also know that with both of us clean our relationship will be like before.he was my bestfriend!!!
just had to mention.since I have let him down.to hear him say some of the things really made me cry.I am looking forward to spending time with him this week end and the little guy....

that's wonderful! I wish I could spend some time with my sisters but we are 1800 miles apart...the only contact i have is over the phone...maybe in a few years, when we have the house finished and saved up some money we will be able to drive up for a visit...

That's wonderful, Traci. And things will just keep getting better. The gifts of sobriety are amazing and it seems like they are endless. Congratulations on finding your brother again.
