I was talking to my sponsor and she said something's
that really made me think. I realize so many things.
I must say thank God for sending her to me. I was slipping
into a comfort zone with the Sub. treatment. I was feel like
I needed the Sub. and now I have a new attitude. I don't
need the Sub. I control it (not the other way around). I was
supposed to go to my Detox Dr. on the 5th, but my app. got pushed back
by a week. When I go I am going to have along talk to my Dr. I am ready
to go the next step in my treatment. Let me just say I am so excited about
it. I was scared for the next step, but not anymore.
I say bring it on !
Hey Marina....
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas......just jumped on for a minute....Wanted to tell you how proud I am of you.....You take care of yourself and have a wonderful day......

_____
take risks. someone once wrote the following about risk-taking:
to laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
to weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
to reach for another is to risk involvement.
to expose your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd [or your loved ones] is to risk their loss.
to love is to risk not being loved in return.
to live is to risk dying.
to believe is to risk failure. but risks must be
taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
the people who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
they may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel,
change, grow, love, live. chained by their attitudes, they are
slaves; they have forfeited their freedom. only a person who risks is
free.
stop trying so hard to control the things over which we have no
power and start controlling those things over which we do have
power...mostly ourself. recognize that it is how we perceive events
that is threatening, usually not the events themselves. one person's
threat is another's challenge. we can control our perceptions.
remember it is the meaning we attribute to circumstances outside
ourself to which our body responds. we have the power to change
that meaning. is a lemon so sour a fruit it's useless? is it a
glorious source of lemonade? is it a beautiful object of a painting?
you decide how you want to see it.
knowing and using our own personal power will free us from our
self-imposed prison of fear and helplessness. learn to love ourselves,
value our uniqueness, ask for our wants and needs to be met or meet
them ourself, accept our weaknesses, and identify our strengths.
let go of the childhood view that others, or events control and
determine our lives. refer all responses to their source...ourself.
