This is not one where i am in denial about something, I denied myself my doc, even though i had things lined up. i pawned my wedding ring to pay for my drugs, brought my needles and i was rip-snorting, ready to go. But...i had to wait 2 hours. During that time I wasn't feeling well, bc i hadn't brought any pain meds with me. After about 30 minutes and smoking some weed, i told the guy that i couldn't do this any more. i gave him my last 4 needles and told him to call it off. I am so proud of myself, though the guy who was buying for me yelled out "F***!" as i walked out, he was counting on a few fixes off of me...i did it, i said no! i had the money, the means and the plan and I called it off just like that! For once I chose Life. I had been thinking about my grandbaby that will be born today or tomorrow, alot. I had also been thinking how terrible I have been feeling during the healing period of my surgery. Thank God I also got called in to do some work on a house contract. All of those messages, plus a pouring rain came together and convinced me that it wasn't worth wasting my health and money over.! Pray with me that this is a good Breakthrough and i will be able to resist temptation the next time. Allelujah! and Praise HP!
Janet, you did an amazing thing. Draw on that moment of power you took back each time you feel weak. It will give you courage in the days to come. Prayers and blessings for your stength to build and for you to take back your life.

Bump.....yep,it was a good thing you did. you walked away from somewhere you shouldn't have been to begin with. you told us yesterday that you would be sure you didn't have enough money on you to make a buy anymore........and yet today you did have enough money. While it is good you didn't go through with it, how did you get the money?
I choose life! My grandson was born last night at 6:20. He is tiny, 5 lbs 9 oz but a beautiful little man. i plan on bringing his 10 y/o uncle Dylan to see him tonight. Mama is doing fine, after having a C-Section-she has heeded my advice and has already been out for a little stroll this morning. I am still puffed up with pride for my choice that i made the other day, i think it will help me to get stronger in my conviction to quit. I bought my Wedding Ring back yesterday afternoon, it was well worth the extra $10 to have been given this brief bit of freedom from my addiction.
and it's not the first time i have pawned my wedding ring, but it will be the last!
Bump..........please do not let this bit of freedom from your addiction be brief. Let it last forever. You know what you need to do. If you need help, we are always here. I am proud of you for getting your ring back.
Congratulations on the new grandchild! That is so sweet, new life. That should be a huge incentive right there! Take care!
Janet,
Congrats on the new baby. I am so happy for you and mommy. I had 3 c-sections and your right walking around helps. That is such great news. 5 lbs 9 oz is tiny. My daughter was 11 months old yesturday and she was 6 lbs 1 oz 19 1/2 inches long when she was born 2 weeks early. So I know the joy you are going through. All my children were tiny and had the prettiest round heads. Most c-section baby's do. Again, congratulations on the baby boy! Have fun! Rae
