Hi everyone, its me again. Many of you keep mentioning N/a meetings. Really?
I thought that was more of the cocaine and heroin users. I don't mean to sound stupid but do people with street drug addictions really even get what I'm going thru? Obviously I have a problem, but wouldn't my pill addiction seem very minor compared to theirs? At this point I really don't think I could handle any sort of judgement( You know, like" pills, how hard could that be compared to what I'm going thru") How do you even find N/A meetings? I'm assuming they run pretty much like AA,right?
Hi,
Yes, NA runs their program alot like A.A. with some minor differences.
There is C.A.too as well as a few others. N.A. doesn't limit the drug of choice.
Which is a good thing, it's more along the lines of a drug is a drug. So, instead
of saying I'm powerless over alcohol or whatever, in N.A. we say I'm powerless over my addiction. Theres so much more than that but thats just the basic idea.
I choose A.A. it works for me, although I do enjoy one of the N.A. meetings that happens to be around the corner from my house. I think you can find any of the meetings just by looking up Narcotics Anonymous in your phone book. The same goes for A.A. as well. Anyway, hope this helped, good luck to you.

You will find people in N/A with opiate pill addiction. It's a big problem that has no boundaries on age, gender economic standing, just like alcohol and all other drugs. It really is in the same line as heroin and is often a precursor to heroin abuse.

lap, you're tugging at my heart.
yes, yes, yes NA is for people who are addicted to opiates. as a matter of fact, a lot of the early members of NA were pillheads. i'm a pillhead and a member of NA. just go to a meeting or 6 or 7 before you make any decisions. ;)
here's another place that you can check out - www.pillsanonymous.com that's the shortcut link to the msn site.
pills anonymous only has face to face meetings in about 8 or 9 states. if you go to that website you will be able to pull up all of the meeting schedules and places that we know of. (you will have to join before being able to see the face to face meeting calendar)
i hope this helps.
