Give me some names - maybe you will be the one to name my Moms BudgieBird

Except -Im going to take the credit if it wns

Just like I have to take the blame it my cat eats the dam thing!!!

best,
jack
How about "rainbow" because of all the different colored feathers.

rita
Woody. Looks like part Woodpecker to me.

Name it Lunch if the cat gets near it. lol
My kid came up with Sunny

I think "crackers"

Lunch, thats friggin funny !!!
Looks like a bag of....Skittles.
Awwwwwwwwww, those birds are so cute and smart to boot. Growing up we had "Perry" for Perry Como, and then for DD we had "Fritz". Your mom can train that birdie to walk a lil coach, and even to dive. Personally I think a Budgie should have a name begins with a "B".

Bud
Baby
Beakie
Buster
Belle
Big Bop
Benny
Boss

However I think your mom may like "Frankie", Jack for Ol' Blue Eyes. Then again that was Tres's three legged cats name. My DD had an entire book on Budgie's and you determine the sex later when the beak changes color or something like that.

Your mom is so much fun. That is a great idea having a "Name my new bird" party. Is she cooking? I'd like some calamari (galamod). LOL For this medagon.
Hey, everyone should bring a toy for the bird to the party as well.
Yay, my son took off the parental controls so I can see the board on weekends! I really shouldn't post at work. And emails are getting through so you already have my offerings. I like Guido for the Italian/Jersey in him (I guess it's a him with all those gorgeous colors) or Angus...just because.

Hey Bryn! It's so great to see you back. You seem really good and as always, you make me feel better just by being here. It's so tough having kids that think they're made of teflon and don't or won't get how dangerous this world is. Getting stuck up. Oh my God. I'd be a nervous wreck. But it's also so good to see you guys communicating again. Little by little they come around. Maybe you don't know it now, but you're having an enormous impact on her and setting such a good example of what a good and worthy person is like. Love you girl!

Keep us posted on the naming, Jack. Now I'm kind of into it. When are the grandkids coming? My sister had a beautifully colored bird, predominantly grey, and her kids named him Brownie. Another B name.

Love,
Beck
Beck, Guido gets my vote =)
Gee, thanks Mom. There's always Luigi too! Or Don Vito, lol. Or Godfather.
Aw Jack, ya know I'm kidding, my fine Italian friend.
I threw out Guido to my mother - she liked it, but I think she liked luigi better. Todd I also gave her your suggestion> "lunch"> - she laughed -but she also said that my kat better not even know its downstairs....

Well the kids will be trickling in today and tomorrow- so by Sunday night the budgie bird will be named. I know your all waiting with baited breath - I hope they pick something a little clever because ultimately , 1 of the kids is going to name the dam thing

Its funny- sometimes when its real quiet I can hear my mother going "Hello,Hello.Hello.petty bird"- it will go on for about 15 minutes -stop and start up again-"hello,hello. pretty bird"- It takes months of repetition to get this creature to imitate what your saying- - so I guess this is just the beginning. She should just get a tape recorder

talk to all you birds later,
jack
It's a budgie - All budgies have to be called Joey it's the law.
Your cat knew it was downstairs on day one.
Hey Todd * *

Well, my kat knew something he wanted to check out was down stairs - thats for sure. He didnt actually see it-yet. I think kats can sence it though.
He snuck down and tried to peek into her house- but someone closed the door just in time- - kats are naturally curious arent they??
All I know ,is if he gets at it- - and brings it up stairs in this mouth like he wants to give me a christmas present- Jack might be looking for new diggs

My Mom has always hated that cat. She never would have it here in the 1st place, but when she asked me to move upstairs (after my Dad passed away) so she had some-one in the house, she had to accept Cassidy the Kat.
She says its evil- - -its big - & black as night. A creature with green eyes that glow in the dark- -She,s afraid of him- - I try to tell her- to take it easy, he is just as scared of you. He used to be homeless in the Bronx, until my sister in law ,who is a social worker in NYC- rescued it and gave it to me when I was living somewhere else- -so thats the story,,,,,,> >
Cant we all just get along???

jack
"Personally I think a Budgie should have a name begins with a "B".
Hey- Bryn or Brynda- - 2- that begin with the letter B

cept I think its a HE
So mom's afraid of this wildcat you've brought into the house and now she bought a bird.
Hmmm.... Sounds like trouble.

It would be cool if you could mount a camera with a view of the cage and put the feed online so we could all watch.

Who know's? Maybe kitty and Lunch will be best of friends.
Lunch - lol
You have to call the bird lunch!
Our cat is called cat - I know...but she loves the way that everyone knows her name. Our Hamster is called hamster, I think there's a pattern emerging.
Luigi....i like that...almost want to get a bird myself just to be able to call it by such an off the wall cool name like "Hey Luigi my sweet liddle tweet tweet..howsa bout givin us a warble!"

MARY :)
This is the best thread yet!

Yeah we're waiting with baited budgie breath, Jack.

Guido? I had a boyfriend named Guido. We called him Guy for short.

Everybody has great suggestions ummmmmmmmm except for Jaz cause naming an animal what it already is is plain well practical. LOL Kidding, Jaz.

Jack, oh how sweet your mom will train that bird alrightie. I tired to get Fritz to say "You da man". I'd go "Who da man? You da man". Never worked. The bird was a gift for DD and Fritz had the Taj Mahal of cages. Ultimately he became my dad's bird. It is so funny when you hear a hardened ol' Detective talking so sweetly to a bird. Then he'd put him outside in his cage and the sparrows would come up and my dad would go "Hey, look at HIM. He's popular. He's the King of birds!" HO HUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Poor Fritz missed getting hand fed after my dad died and my gentleman friend said we were killing him. That bird became his best friend in the world. He loved my dad taught him "Put on your Sinatra hat" and that bird would get under his bell and tip it sideways like a hat. Fritz also dived. He'd get on his swing and ya held this little tub under him and say "Ta dah, fritz the diving bird". Bird dove.

Sorry for the hijack, Jack. They are great memeories of my dad. Your mom is gonna love and be loved by that dang Budgie. That was a good idea.

*****We have video of the Christmas my DD got that bird. My dad is videoing and he says "What are we gonna name the bird, babe?" My DD all of 8 years old says "I KNOW I'm naming him after the best man in the world, *****" My dad's name which is a cartoon character name nobody would want to be stradled with. Man, that kid was a con even back then.*****

I vote Jack's mom's Budgie thread the bestest ever!
BRONWYNN

Means I think "White breasted"

BRIELLE

Seashore town where my ol' boyfriend Guido had a charter boat.

BADABING

Keeping with all the Italian stereotype names we got on here.
My younger daughter's nickname is Luigi...and Badabing, I love that. I had a cat named Cat...what's wrong with that? She always knew we were talking to her as she was the only cat around.
