my mom has a addiction to pain meds and i know shew wont admit it and i know she wont get help. what should i do or what can i do

She has to want it. Until then, all you can do is supply her with enough information to scare the life out of her. If that doesnt do it, she isnt ready. Im sorry about your mom hun, how old are you? It doesnt matter, you will still help you. I am just wondering if your an adult so I can address you more appropriately.
I encourage you to come to the board often, even if she isnt ready. You will learn so many ways to TRY and help her but she has to want it. She is like 100 steps from wanting it if you cant even get her to say "I am an addict and I need help".
All of us here have owned our addiction. That is the first step. You cant go forth without taking that first step. Let us know how you/she is.

Heres an idea, why dont you get your mum to have a look at this board?....just a thought.
Y'know what, there is nothing you can do to help if she isnt ready to accept that help, you can inform her about where her addiction could take her & honestly its a downwards spiral x
Thats one of the horrors of addiction, the people we hurt along the way, and it would be so much easier if our loved ones could do it for us, but they can't only the addict can help themselves x

Hi J, So sorry about your mom. As an addict mother, it makes your post especially heartbreaking. Does she know you know? I know seeing the knowledge in my kids' eyes really impacted me. Then one son made a comment and started telling his friends I was dying. Big reason I'm here and doing all I can to get clean. Maybe if you share with her how much it scares you...show her these posts. Be sure to come back and let us know how it's going. We'll be here. Beck
