Hey Tattooed Lady, when you use IV (or should I say, in my experience) many people develop a "love affair" with the needle...it's like a ritual...and once you've used that way, you will rarely use any other way. I used to have a fascination with the whole fixing my needle, drawing it up and then finding a vein..and shooting it up...it's very hard to break. I had to go into rehab.
Yeah, I know what your saying. I'll have almost a week clean tomorrow (I'm on suboxone) not acrtually clean I guess but, I can't seem to throw away my syringes. I carried them with me to work all week. It was like "just in case". It's crazy.
Angelo, it's time that you start a small fire and melt all of those syringes down.
As long as you have them around, you will eventually use them...the addict brain will trick you into thinking "why waste them?" So if you really are serious about quitting get rid of them...Get rid of your using buddies, your dealers...your spoon, cotton...shoe lace or whatever you use...lose everyone's phone numbers too. I threw my works out several times before I went inpatient...and that was the only way I could create a distance...a safety barrier away from my drug contacts. I used once after I got out and it was the last time...after 38 days clean I did so much coke that I was insane...read my story if you want the whole truth to my addiction...I have 14 months clean from the white w****....one day at a time.
