Regarding a car: Cars are expensive to keep on the road. payments, insurance, fixing them. My son does not currently have a car. he walks to work. he complains a bit about needing transportation. he wants a motorized vehicle. it is hard for me to sit by and watch. I know that a motorized vehicle would be helpful to easily get him to the supermarket, bank, and work, especially when it is raining. AND equally as easy to get him to places he does NOT need to be. and then.... out of gas, tickets, towing, UGH! Calgon take me away!
BUT - Here is my RANT: he needs to do the work to get it. SAVE $20 buck a week would be a start! How can he expect to pay insurance and repairs and purchase a vehicle if he cant even save $20 per week and does not have a bank account. (oh right, he expects me to as I have in the past, and will never do again, but he does not actually say that)
This is the dysfunction of the addict - or at least my son - he is sweet, but a bit of a slow learner - addiction does not help the ability to navigate life - although while they are in it, I am told they feel like they are getting through life perfectly!
This is the part that confuses me the most. From my outsider perspective it appears that he magically thinks a car should appear for him free and clear - no payments needed. Always full of gas. Dont even need a license!
A. he needs to get he license out of DMV nightmare before he can purchase anything. Has that happened? NO. B. has to save up for purchase. C. has to be able to pay insurance and gas.
In the meantime, I have suggested bicycle or scooter. bicycle - NoWay! scooter - does not need insurance but does need license.... hell, to do anything for the rest of your life, one needs a license.... let's get that taken care of.... naw.... dont know how.... too hard.... idk.... would have to take a cab..... it takes too long..... would have to wait in line.... would have to go back again..... call DMV on the phone - no, that doesnt work......
