I got a tree, finally. Then, I went to buy a stand....this island is competely out of Christmas tree stands....
Every year, we either run out of trees, lights, or stands...or something. It is ridiculous...!!
maybe a pot with sand..

Hey that's what my Dad used for our trees waaaaay back when....A big old oval metal washing bucket with sand...I know he added water of course, some before he sunk the tree in and of course after...Seemed to work fine in the olden days lol....He just put a big tree skirt...usually a pretty sheet aroung the base and there ya go! They didn't have all the varied kinds of stands that we have nowadays....Good luck and enjoy your Christmas...I know you will,

Thanks, Jan. I will do the sand. I found a pot and it is holding it up, but not steady.

I did the sand thing. Thank God it is just across the street to get some sand.
Okay, now I feel a little more Christmassy....my girls and I are going to buy some gifts for the shelter here, and bring them. I think that will make them appreciate it more....

LOL Tom, we use to do that years ago when we didn't have money to buy a stand.......and our tree was a charlie brown tree too........cut it off our property..

good for you about the gifts for the shelter, Iam going to serve dinner to the homeless on Friday morning, can't wait, I just wish my boys weren't working so they could join me..I think it is the best gift anyone can give..

I saved myself aggrevation with putting up a tree by not putting a tree up for the second year in a row. Now, this is Christmas, Loving it.
Little beach, if like tom said you dont want to go the charlie brown rout, i think the sand and bucket is a good idea!!!! random dont konw what you are putting it in but you can do food coloring or the sand dying stuff and make it look cool if you , dont have anything to wrap around the bottom .............lol...........that was my moms input!
