Since we have been talking about dogs so much, thought I would tell a sad story about cats.
A couple who moved to the retirement community where I worked had moved here from Hilton Head. This couple were beyond animal lovers but they did such a good thing.
When they were in Hilton Head, they found that fishermen were fishing off the bridges using kittens as bait. I still still the same punch in the stomach that people can be so inhumane.
Well, they started the 1st animal shelter at Hilton Head.
I don't have the resouses to do that but if I heard of s'thing like that or dog fights, I would make 10 calls or moreif I had to to get someone's attention.

Animals are God's creatures, too.

Just the responce from the dog contest, I can see that most do love cats and
dogs.

Just a story, I'm sure things like this could still be going on.

Ive heard about this happening too. People are so cruel.

Those animals we call people should be on a big hook and on a salt water fishing boat. I do love people more than animals but not these people. I belive in more harse punishment - not just in this case. It kind of pisses me off what a humane trial Saddam is getting and has had all of his private time. . He should be tortured. I know we are the land of free, all the compassion you will find. When someone has done such horrible things, I don't believe in being so fair. I know they will answer for what they have done as I will but I can't stand that out men/womem are still over there getting killed - which is a whole different story, we need Bin Laden - won't go into politics - will try and stick with what we might can do more about - like the mis-treatment of animals.
Our neighbor moved and left 2 German Shepards in his back yard. We fed and gave water thinking he was coming back but had to call animal comtrol - waited 2 weeks - new marriage - couldn't afford 2 horse eating dogs as much as we love German Shepards. He just left them!
