O/t Friday Scene-hometowns

Should we cry or just chill?

Yeah it's a Friday night and again.........well here we are.....better than copping,
getting locked up, tricking our hinney's, busting the pawn shop door down.

Mindless jibber but I thought maybe how about we put what our hometown is famous for.........lil sumptin sumptin to amuse ourselves.....GYAC is MIA again so it's Robbie or me to pick up the pace.....I know I may be flighty but yo this is kind of geography.

There's no place like home.
"So this is good old Boston. The home of the bean and the cod.
Where the Lowells talk only to the Cabots. And the Cabots talk only to God."

Paul Revere and assorted other patriots, Emerson, Poe, LM Alcott for the high-brow crowd...
For the rest of us...Donna Summer, James Taylor, Mark Wahlberg, and Boston's bad boys my fellas Aerosmith (who actually do live in my hometown now that they can afford seaside property. Man, I saw them for $2.50 at Boston College back in the day.

Well, not from the city, south thereof - small coastal place famed for it's lighthouses and lobstermen. Also, part of The Witches of Eastwick was filmed on our main drag (such as it is)

Lived here 25 years, grew up two towns over same as my guy.

New York, New York -> So nice they named it twice<

Needs no introduction. A packed city of ethnic diversity and culture, one-of-a-kind metropolis , gives off a a vibe that no other city can match.
Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Central Park, - for starters & normal sightsee-ers.

For the off beat- strange all night clubs, Tommys Gyros on 42st, Scores the strip joint- (never been there)- Katz,s deli on the Bowery,- & Yankee Stadium(although its in the Bronx-Ill sneak it in there)- & to much sh*t to mention

Broadway- off Broadway & WAY off Broadway.

Miles & miles of underground trains- & above ground buildings that hit the stars

Beauty of upper east side- seediness of west Harlem

Fancy drinks & the beautiful people at Elaines Uptown- and dirty drugs & the homeless hustlers stuffed in the dark bars around Washingtown Sq.downtown.

9/11 > good samaritons & crooked cops- -

Yeah , even though Im now on the Jersey side- the Big Apple was home for many years.-
Thru Mayor Linsey to 12 years of "How am I doing?" Ed Koch- (I was gone for furur Guiliani)
- Its technically not my home anymore-& its certainly not for everybody - but it was an interesting place to grow up.

jack in Northern NJ

Originally from Massachusetts, but now in Vero Beach Florida, or as we affectionately call it "Zero Beach" because that's just about all the excitement you can expect here.

Was Spring training center for the Dodgers baseball team for many years, but they have deserted us for the West coast,

Beautiful beaches, nice people, very laid back place. No one honks horns or makes rude gestures if the light turns green and no one moves for a second or two.

We finally got a Mall here about 7 yrs ago, Even have a movie theater!!!

GOD I MISS MASSACHUSETTS!!!!!! HAHAHAH

Good post, I grew up here Cincinnati, Ohio i've lived other places. I don't see me leaving anytime soon. We are Famous 4 Cincinnati Reds (America's first professional baseball team), the Cincinnati Bengals (NFL}. Ya know the T.V guy JERRY SPRINGER he was in the 1970's the Democratic mayor of Cincinnati. He was forced to resign in 1974 after admitting to hiring a prostitute.
Rozzi fireworks, Cincinnati is the Chili Capital of the United States,The city has more Chili parlors per capita than any known city on the continent. As Cincinnatians deeply rooted in German culture and all the beer that goes with it. At the height of Cincinnati's beer fame in the 1890s, the city had the highest per capita consumption of beer and ale in the country. Cincinnati's brewery operations were legendary. As the saying goes, Cincinnati made the beer that made Milwaukee jealous. More recently "i was a eye witness to this". The april 2001 race riot, Caused by racial profiling and other police excesses. Also known for Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is the second-oldest zoo in the United States. The Reptile House is the oldest zoo building in America. CHARLES MANSON

HAAAAHA........Zero Girl lists Charles Manson.........that's too much.

Meanwhile MOM&MORE says Edgar Allen Poe.......I put him down in Philly.

Hey, he wrote THe Raven here dag nabit.

I certainly envy anyone who has real roots to a certain place...i would love that feeling of belonging to sumthin so solid like that...reason being i was born in London ...which i love as a city...to Irish immigrant parents...then at 15yrs.went back to Ireland to live...but left there to go back to London at 17..and then came back like a yoyo to Ireland with my now 7yr.old daughter...reason being ..for her...she can run about like a loon and i know shes far safer than living in a city.If asked i would say London is in my heart but watching my daughter grow up in the emerald isle has softened my view of this country.Sorry to hark back but Diff mentioned she was in a similar place as myself....rootless in a way...i dont feel Irish but i dont feel English either...i dont think im schizo...so maybe time will be the only answer.By the way Zg...Cinncinati...looks nice...betcha it aint all like that...
Take care .....Davey
