O/t- I Hate The Snow

Well- - NYC/Northern NJ has been walloped with about 8 inches of snow so far and its still coming down. We have this weather alert until tomorrow morning.
I lot of you people who are used to this probably get a kick out of the complaining people like me do- -but I just am gettin to dam old and achey to be shoveling snow, getting up to dig out the car, bundling up to deal with a wind chill that makes it feel like -10 degrees- - Who needs it?

For the little kids , tomorrow will be great. Except they got it on the week-end- so no snow days off from school.

For me- no more building snowmen in the yard- hell my kid & his friends drive in this mess, so its stressful as hell . I know better and stay where I am & hope the phone doesnt ring.
- - Hell, in a day or 2 - all the roads will be OK-more or less.

You guys from NC -to DC got hit pretty bad I understand. My cuz called from Baltimore (also complaining)- - Bryn, I hear parts of Philly got a foot of this already? - - You probably like this- Dontcha??
Anyway- its on its way to Boston and all points North >

I worry about the driving in it, too, Jack. My daughter works till 1:00am and usually doesn't get home until around 2:00am so she'll be driving right into the teeth of this thing. We're slated to get 12"+ but so far at 11pm, nada...guess we'll see. The longer it holds off the better I feel about her driving...she's in her dad's Suburban which is a tank in snow, so just keeping a good thought about it.

I love the snow and don't so much mind the shoeveling, as long as it's not the whole damn driveway. Our neighbor drives a plow for the town and always swings by on his way after the last run and takes a couple of swipes at our driveway...I'm SO grateful cause ours is loooong.

Oops, looks like a I spoke too soon, here it comes...and that is surely some wind...be safe and warm.

You guys are all over the news. Sounds like a reay mess. Here in Utah, it's been 2 years now since we had more then 6-8 inches in one storm. Had about 6 last Sat. night, but the roads were clear for the Monday drive. Made me look back though, and man I remember some bad ones. We had 2 1/2 feet in one storm not long ago. The driving is what gets me down. I can usually force my sons to do the shoveling, but not always. Before Christmas, it seems to add the the spirit of the season, but afterward...no thanks. It's been years since I've skied, so I can live w/o it.

Stay warm Jack, and lift the shovel from the knees, lol. Mom, I hope your daughter made/makes it home okay. Stay warm and good luck! Tis the season indeed.

Love,
Beck
I used to love the snow, especially when I was a kid in Sask. Out here in Victoria we might see a couple inches the whole winter, usually gone in the morning. Our main concern out here is the other kind of snow.LOL. Not my thing, thankfully. Take care, Mike.
Snow here in the UK 2 - well in Scotland anyway on the East Coast where I am. It was beautiful ystrdy sat watchin the flakes comin down in droves. Gone a bit icy today tho, almost fell flat on a** a cple times today when out!!!
Dont think we are due anymore tho which is a pity as I LUV the snow

Bah Humbug to all u who dont - lol

xx
Sc*ew this mess. Jack, wanna take off to Arizona? Truly we must be OLD. I kept up with it yesterday into last night so it wouldn't be so heavy today. My neighbor and I. Most everyone else waited until today which makes sense because of them dang drifts. In one place you have two inches and right next door you have a foot and a half.

As much as a PITA my ex husband was the guy can shovel. Mow too. I have to give him that.

Now TODAY what a riot. Everybody trying to get thier cars out are fighting. On my way walking to the store I caught a few fights like "Yo, you a*s*le you just threw your snow back to where I just dug out". To three guys storming up their block to confront some nut with a dump truck who dumped a ton of snow on the end of this tiny block.

I'm going to be honest. I'm going back to even caring what I look like. Playing the helpless damsel and it works. My brand new spanking neighbor on the other side of my house had his shovel going and says "Oh don't do that it's too much. I'll do it for ya". Ummmmmmmmm, O.K., sure. I know I'm an awful person. At that point I'd been out there three times so I let the guy help me. My other neighbor was cracking up at me. I'm like "Hey, I don't see your wife out here". LOL

Beck, I didn't know ya lived in Utah. How'd I miss that? Mom's I too hope your DD got home safely. I think this evening is going to be worse because it's getting icy. Yep, Jack the kids do drive in this like it's no big deal.

*******Tomorrow will be the site of empty parking spots adorned with beach chairs, trash cans, kitchen chairs, and anything else that "saves your spot". It's an unwritten rule if you shoveled it out then it's your spot until the snow disappears. One time I saw these people put a table in their spot. A table. Now there's a statement for ya.******

My plastic manger people are up to their necks, but they still light up.
Jack you had to end up with way more than those 8 inches...
We got hit nicely down the southern end, and it looked so pretty till everyone dragged their a**es out to shovel...

Oh Bryn, gotta love spot saving, I have seen the craziest of things put out to save a spot. I so don't miss the city....
Everyone was out early, and I watched my one neighbor dig his car out and then put the snow in front of another neighbors driveway....lmao although he do go over when he was done and help them dig out...

I am SOOOO JEALOUS of all the snow you all got ! Here I am out in Bavaria and we got a sprinkling...then it rained over Chrsitmas and now its nothing but slush...I miss the snow ALOT since I have been out over the pond...last time I actually saw a blizzard I think I was 12...Im from Mass originally...way up toward Vermont so I need snow in the Winter..lol...send some my way PLEASE !!!!
