I know this is off topic, but you guys are like family to me now and I'm not sure what to do.
I've been having Braxton hicks for what seems like ever, but this is different. My back is spazzing and I have some discharge, its small but its there. I'm having contractions I think for the past hour or so. I'm starting to freak out a bit here, I'm only 6 months along. This pregnancy has been difficult to say the least. The contractions aren't bad but they are there.
I called my doctor and she said to come in to be on the safe side, for now just take it easy and relax (yeah right) until my husband gets home to take me in. Hes over an hour from here and on his way.
Anybody care to keep me sane right now? Sorry to be clingy but I don't know who to call and come sit with me til my husband gets here. All of my close friends are at work, and I don't have any family close by. Sitting here waiting for him is gonna send me over the edge. I am beyond hormonal.
Thanks in advance,
Amy
Relax Amy I know it's easier said than done.. Drink some water and lay on your left side.I am sure you've read that in your what to expect when your expecting.. Just drink water.... Try and stay calm till your husband gets home. I had braxton hicks in my 6 momth to and went in and they monitor Linsay and gave a s*** in the arm to stop them. They will stop it and I am sure you'll be just fine. Hang in there and drink some water... Sometimes deydration causes braxton hicks... Rae Keep posting if that helps too. Rae
I would love to help you my dear, but I almost passed out for every one of my kids and am pretty useless when it comes to pregnant women.....come to think of it......all women. Just sit tight, it'll be alright, you know that. Don't turn up the blood pressure, breathe and take 'er easy. Sorry, that's the best I can do.
Rae,
I was so hoping you'd be on board right now. You're like my pregnancy advisor, you're right. Just drink some water, the doctor told me that too. And Flipper, just someone to talk to right now to pass the time helps so thank you both.
Redd
redd,

What are the best sleep positions? Here I found this for you...
The best sleep position during pregnancy is "SOS" (sleep on side). Even better is to sleep on your left side. Sleeping on your left side will increase the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and your baby. Keep your legs and knees bent and a pillow between your legs.

What Rea said.......
And I am thinking of you. Things will be fine, keep it all positive, and try to stay calm. Your husband will be there soon and I am sure things will feel so much better the second he walks in the door.
Big Hugs....
Love,
Tina

Dear Redd:
I would be on the even safer side and have someone drive me to the DR right away, if for some reason DR can't see you, then to the hospital.
Don't panic, I just had s'thing similiar and I was so happy afterwards that I didn't just put my feet up like my DR told me - I was 8 months along but my middle son was not to wait that extra month.
Your case - we know that every pregnancy is completely different. I just like to play it safe and be in a medical environment just in case you need to be.
Let us know, will be thinking about you and the little fella,
Love you,
Jean

I feel better already knowing you guys are out there. Jean, theres no one to drive me there, I am going to the hospital, I'm fortunate that my OB is on call there right now. I don't think I need an ambulance. I'll wait for my husband to get here, he should be here within the hour.
Redd
Redd...breathe sweetie and relax...i know your mind is going a million miles an hour...do some of your Lamaze deep breathing and focus....

Hey Redd,
When I was pregnant with Dani and Jesi, I started having Braxton Hicks contractions, in my sixth month and my seventh month, and my eighth month. And every time, my OB would want to check me out in the ER. My poor family would rush up there, each time, because no one wanted to miss any of the action. He gave me a shot of brethine, each time and then monitored me for a while and then he sent me home. The contractions always stopped. I'm sure your's will too. Try to be calm, because if your heartrate elevates, the baby's will too. I hope you feel better. I know its scary.
Hugs,
DeNae

Dear Redd:
I am so happy to hear you are going to the hospital. What will it hurt and it can help a lot. Like someone said, if you feel different before your husband gets there
(you do know your body) call 911,Chances are they will still be there with you when your husband gets home. They can just start doing what if anything needs to be done.
Will wait to hear.
Love you,
Jean
