O/t Sort Of... Who Are We?

Hi all,

So I was just posting with IIh and thinking that we all know each other because of the support for our various addictions, but I was thinking that it might help us support each other better, and just know each other better if we had a bigger picture of each of us... I know some of you have been here a long time, but others, not so long... So I propose a share. Whatever you feel comfortable with... just to paint a more whole sense of who we are. Just an idea.... And really, it's whatever you feel comfortable with...

Me, I'm 28.
I am a nurse/graduate student.
I hate studying but love learning.
I am addicted to video games (I can't help myself).
I am a singer... or more, used to be. Jazz was my favorite.
I love music in any shape or form and have, get this, 8000 songs in iTunes.
My partner and I have 3 cats (that's 3 cats too many) and 3 hamsters.
They are all boys.
I'm originally from MA...
I love to boogie board but get afraid of the pacific ocean, so I only do it when we go down to Santa Cruz.
I'm obsessed with TV, or more specifically, Six Feet Under, House, CSI and the Family guy.
MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES. My DVD collection is obscene :)
I have two younger brothers who I adore and miss terribly.
I have two nephews who make me feel like I am with my brothers again (like when we were little).
I'm extremely sarcastic.
I am fanatical about all things Japanese. One day I will make it there. One day.
I love baths, but we have no real bathtub in our apartment and that makes me sad.
I have always wanted to DJ.
Karaoke ROCKS! :)
My aunties are my favorite people in the world (and I have like, 9 of them).
I rarely finish anything I start.
I have just taken up drawing again after years of not doing anything really creative and I am loving it.

That's all for now...

What a great idea. This is the least judgmental place that I have been in a long time so I am so happy to join:

I am 35 yrs. old
grew up in santa cruz and montery, CA
had a great childhood, even after my parents split
my mom is my best friend (knows about my first addiction but doesn't know about this one...i just can't let her down)
my dad was an alcoholic and pill addict
He died when I was 23, the day after my birthday
3 days before I was going to do an intervention
14 days before I lost my condo in the Northridge earthquake
(I had never even touched a pill at this point)
about 2 years before my dad died I became a temporary lesbian (?) and thought I would marry my girlfriend.
Everyone was pretty supportive.
I had a fun 16 years in Los Angeles, recorded 2 albums, toured, did Playboy centerfold, married a musician, bought an amazing house in the hills, became addicted to vicodin, lost everything (Actually I left him and let him keep the house that we both worked for). And started over.
Now I live in a small town, am married to a great man, though sometimes I feel like he drives me crazy and takes me for granted. I have a baby that makes me laugh and get butterflies in my stomach. She is teething now so I have to take a breath now and then when I feel like I might bite my tongue off!.
I took my last pill at 10:00am this morning. I've been tapering so I've already been dealing with the sadness of no more fun.
We'll see about the physical stuff.
Oh, I also RARELY finish things that I've started.
I love old movies. Not as much as I love movie theater popcorn, though.
I was and still am a little bit pigeon-toed. I don't like my teeth but keep putting off getting braces.
I LOVE fountain pepsi with lots and lots of ice...but only allow one a day.
