Not Iggy Pop. Rather "The Three Stooges".
That's a trio I swear is more geared toward males. Is this the most ridiculous statement I ever made? Probably not.
Anyone ever notice guys are cracking the heck up at them hair brained schemes Larry, Moe, and (insert whichever other Stooge). I love slapstick, but I notice I don't laugh as hard as my male counterparts when this is on.
That goes for what I call "Male Bonding Bands" as well. Like The Who or The Stones. Is it the content of the lyrics? Has to be because it's not because they have all male members. LOL Male members. Ya know like The Jackson Five were all male. Boyz To Men. I could relate to these "bands".
These are the things occupy my mind sometimes. How sad is that?
Pretty vacant as THE sEX PiStoLs used to say.....im not a real three Stoogies fan ,but in there time were way ahead.Now the other Iggy and the Stooges last week i think thier bassist died at the ripe ol rocknroll age of 63.....so its weird Bryn that you mention them and walllop!!!thier bass player is no longer,also im a fan of I.&Stoogies....wanna be my dog???in the early 70s.....they really rocked,along with Mc5......so yer no goin mad....somehow you have done it again,that instinct for the uncanny....leading us anywere....with many guffaws also.When i was a moody teen bands like Television,New York Dolls,Lou Reed,Velvet Underground and Ig.....sorry cant forget The Ramones....made me wish i lived in New York.....so i moved to London next best thing.....funny how things pan out eh!Take care my favourite lady.................Davey

Growing up we had this kid in the neighborhood. Talented. Idolized New York Dolls and starts up a band. They all borrowed my fishnets. I always had dudes borrowing my clothes. Bands or not. LOL If I only could get my thigh high leather boots back I'd really be creeping.

The movie "Hi Fidelity" is one of my faves and features some of the less manistream bands...Velvet Underground comes to mind with "Oh, Sweet Nothing" and "Who Loves the Sun"...the former is my fave VU song ever. The Ramones, sad story, eh...just watched a documentary about them with my daughter and her comment: Not a good looking one in the bunch =)
Bryn, sorry, I love The Who and dig the Stones as well. I am totally in touch with my masculine side....BUT, I draw the line at the Stooges (though I have been known to chuckle lightly behind my hand). My mother took us to see them when we were kids and they showed how they did all their slapstick without hurting each other...a message appearance, I guess...'don't try this at home'.
