the last pic is the sh*t !!! did you take that yourself, or find it somewhere and post it? I got a really cool shot of the shy last week....lots of yellow, purple and pink. it would be perfect if it didn't have a dam McDonalds sign in the bach ground LOL!!
Thanks Angela..I didn't take them.A guy I know on the surfing BB is a photo-pro.I do wish I had a good camera. It was magic down there.I got back with a "New Attitude" as Mrs.LaBelle says.LOL Post your pic anyway.
Beautiful, Tim. This was the scene from lunch yesterday. I only go here a few times a year and I'm trying to figure out why. It was a beautiful day perfect for an outside lunch which was Old Bay Shrimp btw
check this out....this was at magic sands beach....a few hours later...the beach was litterally gone...we were sitting on lava rock where the beach once was...it comes back again in the spring...thats why they call it MAGIC SANDS...amazing!!
LOL...no thanks Lisa...not missing that at all....yet!! It was wierd this Christmas did not feel like Christmas at all...its hard to believe its Jan 21
Tim...yep...that beach is literally about a five minete walk from my house!! It was incredible....if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it...the local were going nuts...every surf spot along the drive was jam packed....thats why I have to learn to surf...no way am I a bystander!! I did not go out in that though..that would have been just suicide!
OMG, I've been there!!! I have pictures that are almost identical. We heard about the magic sands beach but have never been on Kona except in the winter....can't wait to see pictures of it in the spring when it comes back...
Your right! I am...going to appreciate all that I have like never before...it wasn't easy getting here but it was worth every second of it...I feel like I am finally home!!
My kids that are "big city kids" were seduced by the rhythm of this place...it lulls you into peace.....you can't put your finger on it exactly but its real and I live it.....I get this everyday....thank you god!!!
There is not a single thing boring about what God has laid out before us. Those pictures all remind us of the beauty of this world. We have to share it whenever we can.
KeeKee-I hope you don't mind but i just posted those pic's on the surf BB. These Texas boys don't get to see surf like that unless there is a hurricane in the gulf. Waves are very powerful and can be destructive.Look at Tsunami's. I'm very respectful of the ocean. She had slapped me around more than once.
Of course I don't mind....I will post more when I download them....they are for you and all to enjoy!
I have always been in awe of the ocean that is why the majority of my life I think I always felt like a fish out of water....living in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta....and yes the power she holds is beyond describable......I bet that you are an excellent surfer!!!
I almost forgot....I actually got to see a pod of dolphins yesterday doing there thing right at this beach...they were aways out but I saw them clearly playing and splashing around...a fairly big pod...perhaps about 9 of them.
A lady that was out there snorkling said she saw the same pod and she saw a smaller humpback following them....its almost whale season.....I can't wait!!
Lisa...where are you going? I hope you guys are heading the South Pacific! The most remote islands in the world....hint..hint....where you truly are in paradise...in a land that is steeped in history with some of the most peaceful people on earth!!!
Or are you going to Cabo????
Either way.....I am happy for you....you have earned it...a little R & R is defiantly in order!
Wow, those are some really inspiring pics, thanks for posting them so that I could look outside without leaving my bed right now.
This kind of reminds me of what I've been missing over the past year, all of the beautiful gifts I could enjoy and all the beautiful feelings I could feel from really noticing my surroundings. It's peacful, thanks again.
KeeKee, We stayed on Kona 2 years ago and I don't remember much about the names except that we stayed in an area called Wiakola? I think the name of the condo was Waikoloa Village? Does that sound familiar? There was a beach nearby that was so beautiful, I wish I could remember the name. There was a wedding there almost every day.
This was taken from the Royal Kona. There are no prettier sunsets than in Hawaii....
