Ok ya'll I think we are close enough to talk about just about any and everything so here goes, for those that gross out... sorry.
This is my problem: Since I am off drugs, I may go so long without uhm... pooping that I forget when the last time I did it was. This cant be healthy. Any of you experience this?
I am too thin to begin with so I dont really want to turn to laxatives but I have tried just about everything... rainsin bran twice a day, stool softener... hanging out in the bathroom a little longer hoping the urge strikes. Even though I am too thin already, would a laxative twice a week be better for me than having no BM at all? Like literally once a month if Im lucky. As my tummy is getting to look like a starving child you see on TV, I must have some kind of relieve FAST! But some of you may remember when I couldnt eat and got down to a scary 82 pds. I have all of my weight back now and dont want to lose an ounce, even that lil shows on me.
I hope we are mature enough to discuss this. Not going poo-poo for so long cant be healthy. I feel literally 'clogged up'.
I put myself out here with a very delicate issue, please dont take advantage of it. You know who you are *gives them a dirty look and hopes they dont visit the board until they grow up a tad*
Help?
Kaela,
Ducalax,Prunes, raisen brand and correctal stool softner may help you. Also make sure your drinking lots of water.... If you do all these things and you haven't gone I would suggest going to the ER.... They may beable to give you some tests and find the problem.. They may also beable to give you something that will help you gain some weight if that's an issue for you...
Good luck... I know constipation can be a major pain in the a$$ ( literally)....

I just saw that colon cleanser product yesterday at the pharmacy ..dont know the name either but it clearly states it in huge letters on the box..blue and white.
If that doesnt do it in 24-48 hours, you should call a doctor. You could have a blockage. Also..are you eating enough food? People that dont eat alot, dont go alot..your body uses up most of what you put in it.Feel better and let me know if you found the colon cleanser product. If not, I will drive over and get the name of it for you.

Thats the main thing, never in my life have a had any kind of schedule. God, that would rock. Usually I go 2-3 times a week. That is normal. But when you can even remember the last time, thats not good.
I am going to take all of your advice except the ER hehe. I love you Rea but they said they would give me an enama (inama)? dont know how to spell that. No Thanks! hehe
Im going to be frank with the pharmacist, even about my taper and cleanliness. That will help him or her help me.
Thank you for responding to such a delicate subject hehe.

dr. told me that it's a good idea to schedule poop time...
really good thing to go every morning after breakfest..even if you don't "do" anything to start with.kinda gets your body trained..and moring is the best time..so we've started this w/ the baby(2 yr) tring to get him to do it, not quiet potty trained just yet, we're working on it..
just put aside some me time, go hang out in the potty...
don't know to much about anything important, but by golly i got some poop pointers....hehehe...dj

k,
trust me i had a bowel blockage it is no fun and is extrememly painful, and it can kill you from all those toxins getting backed up in your body. they did an x-ray and found mine. but i was duobled over in agonizing pain. so if you are having stomache pains too i'd say call your dr.

At the health food stores and probably the pharmacy they have a herbal pill that's just magnesium. That's what the girl told me at the HFS. Take 1-2 at night and it might take up to 1 week to start working but it softens everything up. It works well on me.
Thanks again for replying to such a sensitive topic.
Boo: That is my main concern, toxins from it.
I am going to try some of ya'll tricks and if I dont get results by Monday, Im calling the Doc.

I have heaps of tips for ya sweetie.
My mum has suffered from constipation her whole life and she eats healthier than any person I know! She's tried many things over the years and now swears by a herbal laxative called NU-LAX made by a company called ORGANIC, but I read on the packet it is made in Australia so you probably wont have it in the States but I'm sure there would be something similar. These are the ingredients:
*Senna Leaf powder
*Dates
*Figs
*Mixed fruit
*Sucrose
*Glucose
She says it works perfectly cause you can adjust the amount that you take each day to work with your bodies requirements.
My sister swears by coffee, 2 cups a day and never a problem, I don't think she ever had a problem though.
I am still recovering from surgery (Abdominal Rectopexy) which I needed to fix my pooing problems. It was very painful and has been a slow recovery so make sure you see your GP if you don't find something that works soon.
My Colorectal Surgeon & GP recommended the following for me:
*Metamucil - a teaspoon with a glass of water adds alot of fibre to your diet.
*Laxatives - just to use if nothing else does.
*Lots of water - especially sipping it throughout the day because if you drink a whole glass at once it is just gonna go straight through ya, but sipping allows the water to be absorbed where needed (like Colon)
*Loads of Fibre - Wholegrain bread, muesli, fruit & vegies, nuts & raisins, baked beans.
*Especially Kiwi Fruit and Oranges.
I found that having a large glass off freshly squeezed (no sugar added) orange juice works great for me but it kinda makes my skin break out so not ideal.
Do not strain or push hard no matter how much you feel you need to, that can cause so much damage inside.
Go for a 20 minute walk beforehand, it gets things moving around and loosening up in there.
Thats it for now, if I think of anything else will let ya know - Good luck ;o)
