Old Time Halloween And Mischief

Bunny unfortunately made me cheer up. Her and her Halloween happiness.

Well, for all us old heads, shall we?

Remember when your costume was the same every year? A bum or an old lady? Never failed somebody'd have a pillow stuck down their dad's pants making a fat butt and POOF they were a bum. Usually a guy would be the old lady or just maybe a chick. More pillows to make boobs.

Remember when ya got so much candy ya had to go back home and unload it and set back out again. Repeat. Out again.

Remember when ya went to the persons house gave out like sodas or something really good like three times?

Remember when your parent would eat the candy? Pick out the good stuff?

Remember when ya used a PILLOWCASE instead of some bag or pumpkin head for your loot?

Most nobody had a store bought costume. If ya did it was a plastic mask with two eyes cut out and slits for the nose and mouth. It came in this box which was pretty big and ya thought you were the s*it cause you had a store bought costume of like Speed Racer or something.

That was Halloween, right?
I hate halloween- but I love "Remember when"

Yeah, those were the days
Jack then that releases us from "The He-Man Halloween Haters Club".

Right now I'm getting on my Saint Teresa Of Avila costume.

Who you being? Rememeber it's a Holy Day Of Obligation. I think?????? All Saints Day.

yeah bryn--that eas grrat--now we have to watch our kids like hawks, and curfews and kids dressin like gagsta's and being rude to people--i dont know how many times last night i heard from a distant group of teens in the dark look it's a B*TCH (i was dressed as a witch) remember t-p'ing the houses that gave out apple's :) they still have the black and orange peanut butter taffy stuff--yuck that stuff is like the "fruit cake" of halloween--it's always among the last of the candy left. and yeah we always carried pillowcases--thats what my son had-easy to carry lots of candy, won;t brak, handy for storing pieces of your costume as it falls off or is removed for comfort. one dude had a hude bowl of really good candy and after huffing up his huge hill i was glad to see he ha dplenty to give-he was our lst house but the old gezer gave my son and I one dum dum each--what a crock I wanted to punch him--whats the point of buying all that candy-plus he yelled at Dane for leaning on his fence--how rude!! anyway--we had a great time--and yes--i got my own stash of candy--some people seemed put off at giving ol'mom some candy but hey i dressed up, i walked the whole way and i want some too!!!!
I was a pillowcase kid too. Man, it used to take us about 3 hours to get everywhere. Had a blast!

Kenny didn't come out to trick or treat last night :( but I understand that it is a long drive. Dylan didn't go out. We never have kids out here bc we live so far out. Of course all those years of my husband hiding in the house with the lights out on Halloween probably didn't help. HaHa.

I love those PB taffy things, but of course I love anything with sugar. I just finished up some Candy Corn flavoried taffy. I will eat just about everything, though I would balk at a frosted doggie roll LOL
Damn Bryn,

Sounds like you ran in my neighborhood. I truly cannot count how many times I dressed as a hobo, or that my brothers dressed as girls. I used to coat my face with honey and press coffee grounds into it for the stubble of a beard. It looked cool for a little while, but it started to suck pretty quick. Itchy, sticky mess. And I had to shower after, pulling me away from the candy. For me, free candy door to door just heaven. My kids didn't go out this year for the first time (had to work or they would have) so I have no bags to raid. No one was home either, so no left overs. Bummer! Thanks for the good memories!

Beck
Am i getting halloween and guy faukes mixed up? When i was a kid we'd go round the doors singing and trick or treating ( earned 41 one night) and that was a lot of money back in '87-88, even bought my mum a chicken supper from the chippie..... those were the days.
