On 65mg Methadone For 1 Month..switch To Subs??

ive only been on methadone for a month, start at 30 and up to 65 now. If you read my last post, you know that i dont really like the way the methadone affects me. I was thinking of switching to suboxone and i hear that you have to taper down to 30mg first and then stop going for two or three days?

Would anyone think the withdrawal is going to be that extreme for me considering i havent been going that long and im on 65mg? Im trying to debate whether i want to just stay on methadone for a whiiile, or just get the crap done and detox off this, get on suboxone and eventually be able to get off that without TOO much of a problem? OR maybe i dont even need to take the suboxone????

I suppose the longer i am on the methadone the harder it is to get off, i hear a lot of horror stories....which is why i wanna get off now.

so i guess my main question is: After being on methadone for 1 month, should i switch to suboxone (and would it really be that hard for me to switch????) or just go ahead and taper off the methadone as quickly as possible????

i doont know what to dooo =//// i just know that i do not want to be on methadone for very much longer because i fear fear fear coming off of it, especially i end up being on it for several months or even years.
My advice is to start a very slow taper and see how you feel.

You need to be at 30 ml to switch without too much risk. If you can get back down to 30ml then I would strongly support that you go over to sub.

Good luck
