I usually post in the other pills addiction message board but come here sometimes....I've posted with some of u guys/gals. I just posted on the othersite but decided to post here because ur all here pretty much all day or check more often. Forgive me for copying what I posted from the other board
but can anyone relay to this:

Today I saw my family doctor and addmitted to my xanax addiction........she stares at me with a smirk......WTF she says I have a panic disorder and am extremely depressed. She wants me to start taking Cymbalta for depression and Ambien (another addictive med) for sleep. She wants to drop me 1.0mg immediately esecially at night..........can't take it at nite. Doesn't want to even look at the Ashton Manuel.... Tells me she can have me off xanax in 1 month.
Don't go to a psychiatritst yet......I'm to upset and it will accomplish nothing.
I told her last time I took Ambien and not the xanax I freaked out at night. I told her that I felt that 1.0 mg was to much for me...........she said u can do it, start taking the Cymbalta and I'll see u in 2 weeks.

Well guess what leaving the office guess what I wanted to take more xanax to calm me down from that ordeal.

I am going to start my tapering but at my speed....1/4 of the bar or .50mg I don't think I can do 1.0mg drops. I'm only taking 2.5mg at night before bed, and sometimes just .50mg a quarter bar during the days when I'm nervous.

I'm also going to start on the Cymbalta.........maybe that can get me out of my depression.

Thanks for hearing me out...........Lots of love xoxoxox

Hi Zodi That funny you should mention the ambian(which Ive had & hated)I saw a ad on TV this moring for a new sleep aid I think it started with a lu???anyways its suppose to be non narcotic to begin with.
About your dr WOW she doesnt seem like a very understanding one.Is there anyway you can find a new one that may be able to relate to what your going through?I know there are addiction specialist,I dont know if that would be an option.Just some ideas,,,,mj
I'm going to try to find a new doctor. I've been with this one for about 8 years, and it takes time to build a relationship with ur doctor. I thought she would have been more understanding........I'll have to look into that new sleep med..haven't heard about it. I just want something thats non addictive if it even exsist.
OMG your singing my song.Im lucky to get 4 hrs of straight sleep.I really wish I could remember the name of it.
I understand your relationship with her goes back but you want someone who will be ON YOUR SIDE.Ive heard great things about addiction specialist maybe that would be better.
I cant say anything as far as you Xa because Ive never taken them but i do know you should have a DR guiding you in the right way to get off of them....mj
Mj I've always have had insomnia........so I hear u. Whatever u do don't take xanax it's very addictive and the w/d are terrible. I am going to look for an addiciton specialist. If by any chance u see the name of that sleep aid let me know...
Thanks for ur imput.
My doctor prescribed Lorazepam for sleep...never even thought about it being habit forming...it sure works well and I haven't noticed a dependance developing...only take it when I need it, which can be several days in a row and then off for several days...they're 2 mgs and I take one and if it doesn't kick in, i take a second...is this an option? Good luck...sleeplessness is incredibly hard on a body and a mind. I hope you get relief.
hi zodi,my expertice was never on benzos,so i will not try to give you directions because i would probally get you lost[lol] but what i can tell you is your worth all the rewards of life and all the happiness that comes with it,your friend........vinny.
Michael J, lorazepam is a benzo, also known as Ativan, and can be addictive, don't be fooled. Be careful I started on xanax every now and then and now its a full blown addiction. Xanax and Ativan are very similar. Check out the Ashton Manuel.

Vinny, thanks for the post ur very encouraging. Just so u guys know I've been previous addicted to oxycontin, oxycodone, and soma. I've kicked that addiction but xanax has kicked my a**.

Thanks everyone
