Hello everyone.I have a quick question & I hope someone is around.I go to my Dr at 2:40 est I have some issues I need to discuss. What I want to know from here is....Okay Ive been on Effexor for 3+ years, its always worked pretty good. What I would like to know is ...is it possable that after so much time on it I may need a different AD?
I hope I get some feedback.

Brina, if it's working why do you want to change? Did you ever hear if it ain't broke don't fix it?
LOL Kat yes I know that ...but to put it honest Ive not been feeling all that great. And instead of "just"going to my Dr looking for somesort of "pill cure"Im trying to think of "easy"reason why Ive been feeling this way.I have depression to begin with but right now Im not sure if my depression is worse because I feel phyically like crap or do I feel like crap because of the depression.
I guess my hope is that I can get an "easy"fix...(no not drugs)I mean Im hoping I just need more iron in my blood or something.....
Hey I know I said it but congrates to you!!!!

Thanks for the congrats, hon. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she says. They are SUPPOSED to know more than us <G> Don't forget, none of us are getting any younger and aches and pains are normal. You're in your mid 30s, aren't you? Sorry ahead of time if I made you older than you are.
AWWWW I SHOULD thank you...I turned 41 in July!!! I know your right.I guess Im just the type that likes to "try"& figure puzzles out.
No h was going to just ask him to run some bloodwork.Like I said...it may just be I need iron,oh heck at my age it could even be menapause....But I figure checking my blood is a better place to start than just looking to treat the symtoms.....\

Ewwww...menopause. Good luck with that. Talk about an emotional roller coaster. LOL Well, not for everyone I guess but I sure was a tad cranky for a while. A bit of that could have been from early recovery too but menopause had a lot to do with it.
Yeah Ive heard it can be bad.And I remember my grandma years ago,she a very sweet proper older generation.Goodness it was like some alien invaded her!!
Well Kat I must get ready...Or at least try to put some makeup on (wouldnt want to scare small children)LOL
Its been real nice talking with you.
You take care okay?

I too took effexor several years. It quit working for me, I was wanting to sleep all the time, very tired.
Prozac is working for me now. It is a *itch to be on this stuff, but without it I'm in awful shape.

Thank you Kimmom.....I talked with him & hes going to do a bloodwork up.You know the whole thingy...like my thyroids & such.If nothing shows than we will try a new AD.I just didnt want a "quick pill"fix. Why treat the symtoms without even knowing whats going on.
The lack of energy is the worst.
My oldest thought it may be because of stopping the pills but I can feel the difference.Im not lazy by nature but lately I just cant seem to actually move around.
Anyways,thanks for the replies
