I lost Riki tonite. I slipped on some ice and his leash fell out of my hand. I cannot run and he took off across a busy street and into God only knows where. It was getting dark and I never found him.
Please say a prayer for Riki that he is safe and that tomorrow someone will turn him into our local shelter. He had his training collar and leash on which did not have his tags on so it will be hard to find him.
I posted pictures of him all around where he was lost. I know it may not seem like much but that dog means the world to me. I rescued him to give him a chance at life and have poured alot into his care. Please say a prayer. If anything makes me want a drink right now this does. I'm 8 and a half months sober. I'm a mess right now.

God knows how much you love your dog. He will bring him back to you. I know how hard it is when your worried about someone. But God doesn't want us to worry, he will take care of us and I am sure he will take care of your dog.

So I have to give it up now. I have to trust that he is safe and will return to me if it is meant to be.

I am so sorry, Amy. I do hope you get him back. Run ads in all your local papers and any free news publications, trading papers, etc. Not everyone reads the actual newspaper. Tell how it happened, so if someone has him they will know how loved he is. Offer a reward, if possible, with no questions asked.
I have 2 K9 babies of my own, so I know you are hurting over this. Many people, myself included, will always pick up a lost dog and try to find the owner. I have picked up several over the years, and each one has made it back home. Sometimes, it took a few days because we were both looking for each other in different places.
My thoughts are with you and Riki. I hope you reconnect soon. Dogs are very resourceful and know how to survive.

If this helps at all, I lost my dog once when she was 10. The snow blower was going and she got spooked and took off...I found her 3 days later very comfortable in someones home just a couple of blocks over. But those 3 days were awful, just not knowing.

Call the local vets as well. Did he have a chip in him? One of our dogs has it, going to get the other two chips as well. Can track back to the owner.
Like other have said, signs, put them everywhere, I would be devastated if one of my dogs/cats went missing, I feel your pain. Like Atlas said offer a reward. You don't need to put the amount on the sign or you can.

They would also let you know if something happened to him..knowing nothing has might make you feel better..and it was the cops 2 towns over that told me where she was

I am sorry to hear you fell and you lost Rikki. That is HORRIBLE. I hope you find him or that he is able to find his way home. My dog is that kind of dog to where he would just take off.
