This morning I was sitting here thinking ughhhh I don't like my life. I logged on to fb and seen all my friends had the same posts. So I checked out the local paper. What an eye opener.
4 of my hometowns firefighters were in an accident on Saturday, survived...only to be in an even bigger, more horrific accident yesterday morning. 12 injured, 1 died. The woman that died was a very special lady I've known all my life. 49 yrs old!!! 3 children 20, 16 and 11. Her husband is in the hospital with head injuries. I was/am beside myself with grief. My oldest brother was the closest with her. He is doing ok.
Let me tell you my dear friends, it was the eye opener I needed to take a good look at my life. Life is too short to not live it EVERY day. I've made alot of phone calls, texts, emails etc today to let those in my life know I love them and am thinking of them.
I am thankful for everyone on this board. Thank you for being in my life.
love and hugs
Hilary
Thanks for sharing that, Hilary. Prayers being said for all those affected by this tragedy.
And, yes, I get living each day as it unfolds, that none of us are promised anything so it's up to me to make each day the best day I can, to be the best person I can and live in God's light and love....
Admist the tears and pain, enjoy life today, honey.
(((hugs)))

When you hear stuff like that it really does put it into perspective, doesn't it? All of my stress and woes...nothing compared to someone loosing thier life or a spouse or child.
We are so lucky to come out on the other side of addiction and need to live each day to the fullest with grace and grattitude. Not an easy thing to do some days but we practice. Not sure I'll ever get it right but I'll die trying.
I am so sorry about your friend Hilary. ((hugs))

Ok, I got some info wrong.
4 of the firefighters were in an accident on Saturday. They were away competing in some kind of competition for firefighters. A bus of wives and supporters were on their way up to get them and see them in the hospital when the 2nd accident happened. A tragedy no matter how you look at it.
It certainly brings a tight knit community even tighter.
