My boyfriend was addicted to pain pills and went to detox last year during Thanksgiving weekend stayed 10 days came home on suboxone and was doing great. Well I've been hearing that he's doing pills again and I found some in his truck. He said the oxycodone was a friends. He's sworn to me he's not back on pills but I can't believe him. How can I tell if he's back on pills?
As a former addict, my first response is instinctual.....he is lying to you. He's feeling ashamed and afraid, and he will tell you ANYTHING except the truth. Relapse is painful and is accompanied with so much guilt that it makes it very hard to tell the truth.
Have his moods and behaviors changed? Remember the signs from last year. Are they repeating themselves? You may just have to watch and wait.
Has he been attending NA meetings regularly .. got a sponsor and a home group ??
is it big difference between those 2 , between Suboxone and Oxy? Aren't both based on morphine? This pills are not all that popular here in UK so I am clueless but as addict I would say he is lying to you whoes those pills are ... addicts usually lie to loved ones, hide extent of their addiction and always always say their habit is so small its almost non existent and they can stop whenever they want, its not problem etc... sorry
You can tell he's back on pills because: he has them in his truck. No one who is supposed to be OFF pills is driving around with a "friends" pills.
