oh kim - how sweet this is! thank you for sharing your grandson with us. i recently had another dear friend who became a grandmother and i'm going to share with you the same thoughts/words i shared with her.
there is something so special about babies. you suppose it's because they are so close to God?
ahhhh kim ~ a new chapter to your life has begun. a baby is a blank check made payable to the human race and the neat thing is that we become wise enough to be led a child.
dear God ~
thank you for the love and innocence that incarnates as babies. we recognize the hope and potential embodied in each one. teach us to listen to their wisdom and learn from their example. show us how to create a civilization that is worthy of them.
we join in prayer and action to make the world safe, to provide food, shelter, clothing and educational opportunities for all. whether or not we personally have children, we accept our role as guardians of the next generation of humanity.
thank you God for the gift of children and for the ways they grow us. thank you God for the blessings you have bestowed on mar and her family with this precious new life.
i know without a doubt that kim and her family and all of us are filled with a sense of wonder and gratitude with the birth of this child.
