Hi Pirate,

I just wanted to start another thread to you. Take the advice that you feel is helpful and ignore the rest. AA is not the end all and be all of sobriety. I know that it works for millions of people. Obviously. You can see that all over the boards here.

I have been reading your posts since you started here. Everyone is really trying to help you and they have the best advice and the purest of intentions. However.........don't get it stuck in your head that you have to rush and plow through AA to get where "They" are. It took many people years to get it right. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Talk to your sponsor.

Their enthusiasm to help you is evident. I do feel that it is almost putting a sort of pressure on you to get where they are faster.

I have been sober for over 2 1/2 years and I never set foot in AA. Don't get me wrong. I believe in AA 100% and I know many people would be dead without it. However it is not the "Only" way.
