I have just a question, don't they have meds out there that help the physical withdrawals from Pain Medication. I was reading about it the other day because I'm also an addict to percocet and any other narcotics that I can get my hands on. I take up to 8 pills a day, as soon as I wake up in the morning I'm thinking about pills and can't wait to take them. I'm considering going to my doctor and telling him, I'm just wating for my health insurance to kick in so I'll be covered if he needs to prescribe me something.
just a question, also how will the withdrawal symtoms be once I decide to get off. and how can benadryl help when it just makes your head tired and the rest of your body is still acheing, just a question.....

Stacy,
I think I have spoke with you before. Have you tried to get your pill intake under control? Like weaning down to a low dose per day? I would suggest doing that in the meantime while you are waiting for your insurance to kick in. If you take say 8 in a day then why not tomorrow try taking 7 and then next sunday go to 6 a day and give your body time to adjust. Also yes the doctor will beable to give you some mediction that should help you. If you are honest with him on your intentions. Now for the benadryl it will help you sleep. I would start out taking 25 mgs. I wouldn't take it unless you are quitting pain meds altogether and you need some needed rest. Your body is still going to ache throughout the day but it will help you sleep some. Have you ever experienced withdrawl symptoms before? If you haven't then it will just be like a bad case of the flu and how long it last is different for everyone. Some it can be 7-10 days or for some it can take weeks to feel better. If you have then you know you will probably have diarrhea and Immodium should help some. 800 mg of motrin or really any kind of flu therapy. I took Comtrex cold and flu but there are different kinds you can choose from. Vitamins and B-12 help, exercise and potassium such as banana's are good for restless legs. You have to do what works for you. The best advice I can give you is to talk with your doctor about what is best for you. I don't know your medical history and wouldn't want you to take any OTC meds without talking to him first. Best of luck to you, Rae
