Hi, everyone
A friend of the family (30 year old man) has moved away from his hometown because a LOT of the people there drink in their leisure time. He had a reputation for it too and felt the people would continue to expect it of him if he stayed there and he desperately wanted to get away from it. He has about 3 years in his recovery, thank God.
The reason I'm asking for prayer is that he called us about 3 days ago and said that his grandmother passed away. She hadn't been in the best of health but they didn't expect her to go so quickly. Then today he called and said that he didn't know what to think anymore. His grandfather was taken to the hospital and they thought he might have had a stroke or heart attack...they weren't sure...but the doctors said he is brain dead. The family decided to remove his from life support last night. My friend was traveling home to support his family in their grief. I am worried about him going back to his hometown AND dealing with so much loss, I'm afraid he'll turn to the alcohol to escape reality. Life hasn't been especially smooth for him lately besides. He desperately wants a girlfriend but doesn't have one right now.Please keep him in your prayers that he stays strong.
Also, his mother has been through so much in her lifetime. She has another son who is struggling BIG time with addiction (alcohol and possibly something else) and she has lost a husband and son (I know at least one of them was a suicide but I think both). Please keep her in your prayers as well.

susan i will defintely keep him in my prayers..life on life's terms can be so hard sometimes, especially when life can seem so unfair.........prayer is my daily answer to survival and i will most certainly keep him in mine when i do.....

Awwwww....thanks you two! I talked to him last night and he sounded pretty well under the circumstances...losing both you grandparents within a week of each other! They're having a double funeral on Wednesday. I'm sure that will be difficult!
