Pre Employment Urine Screen

I think I got the job. I'm really Jazzed about it. There will be a drug screen, I was told by my Probation Officer that Meth dos'nt show up as an Opiate. It only comes up if you specificly test for it. Is this true?
That is true. On a standard pre-employment drug screen, methadone will not show up. Only in a extended drug screen test where they specifically test for it.

I have a case (I'm an attorney) where they did a standard drug screen on a murder victim. Opiates (like oxy and heroin) showed up on the regular drug screen, but they had to do a specific extended test to determine that he had methadone in his urine as well.

Sorry for the grisly details, but I hope that helps

Thats very helpful, thanks so much. I did'nt want to explain to a possable employer that I'm a recovering addict. To some people thats a hard thing to get past. But I want to be an honest person too. But sometimes you have to volinteer as little information as possable about yourself, if you want to start getting ahead. I really need to get this job. And in time maybe I can be completely up front with them.
I totally agree. Even though there are few people whose lives have not been touched in some way by this disease, there are still many people who, when they hear "recovering addict", hear only the word "addict".

You don't ever have to disclose to normies unless you want to. It's nobody's business but ours!
