Well for those of you who read my board about me going off percocets here is the update. I have chronic pancreatitis as you know, so when I wanted off I was taking a risk. I went off them for about 2 days and was rushed into the ER with a pancreatitis attack. The doctors said it wasn't smart to go off my meds. They basically told me I would have to take pain meds and encorporate them into my normal life. So that's how it went. I wanted off but it's not a good idea because I'll be in horrible pain anyways. Thanks for your help while I was trying though :)
Sorry it didn't work out for you the way you wanted it too. YOu said you don't abuse them, there are people like you that do have to take the meds for the rest of your life. Just stay vigilant and never let them get the better of you and run your life.

Thanks cowgirl. No, I don't abuse them. I just don't like taking them. I just wanted off but I guess it's not happening. Oh well, I try not to be so down. There are people put there with worse illnesses then me. Thank god I don't have cancer or anything. ;)
Username, one of the promblem that my husband has is chronic pancretitis. Although he did get addicted to percocets, i think that was part of his pain. this has tylenol in it and the dr told him to stay away from tylenol. He is now on methadone because of the addiction to percocets and is also on xanax. That is his doc now. He has not been to the hospital in about a 1year from his chronic pancreatits. When ever he did go his blood work was normal. Sorry to here about your pain.

Wow thats so weird you would have a pancreatis attack because you stopped taking your pain pills??? I don't see the connection. How would stopping a pain pill create a pancreatis attack? Can they do that now?? Wow.
That sucks you gotta take narcotics everyday now just to feel normal. I hope you don't have to come off them years down the road. If you think now was bad wait until then.
