Question For Bob B

Bob B, I posted this on the St Matthew Talbot thread, but maybe you missed it ~ just wanting to get your suggestion on this:

"Fascinating Bob B ~ I'm so happy to see you posting again. I know I posted to you a while back about pondering the thought of attending Mass again....do you suggest I go to confession first and then go to Mass, or should I just attend Mass and not participate in the communion; I have other questions too, but not sure if they'd be appropriate to ask here, for example, I'm divorced, did some pretty ludicrous things while I out there using and drinking, so I wonder if I will even be able to take communion again. Thank you for sharing the story of St Matthew ~ I will begin to pray to him, along with my other prayers I say daily."

Thank you,
Geri
hi, geri, sorry for the oversight.

you can always attend Mass, and make a spiritual communion if for some reason you are not ready to make a confession or if there is otherwise an impediment to your receiving the sacraments.

you indicate that you are divorced. are you remarried outside of the church ? if not, you can make a sacramental confession at any time.

if you are inclined or "drawn" to return to Mass, by all means do so. most parishes also offer a daily Mass.

please come home. you will be well received and have much to offer.

by the way, there's a new Catechism just published. you might find parts of it interesting.

Thanks Bob B, I'm gonna try to get back to Mass real soon, I need to make it a priority along with my sobriety. I appreciate the time you took to post back to me and thank you for that....Geri

hey, geri. just step into Mass on day and listen and observe. take it all in.

i stayed away from the Church for quite a few years many years ago. i sensed a call to return and just showed up one day. once i was there, i found out for myself why i went back and why i was called back.

ask the Holy Spirit to lead you, and St. Joseph and Mother Mary to guide you.
