I don't know if we've ever talked or not but I've been posting for a little while. This is not really about recovery. I was just wandering what the jails were like in Wales? I'm in the US. If you don't want to talk about, that's fine. I'm glad to hear you're clean and good luck.

I don't know! LOL. Just in general, I guess. I guess what I want to know is, ...are they clean, can you watch t.v.? I guess they can't be too bad if you can get detox drugs. You're really lucky to get detox drugs over here. Over here, also the jails are really crowded! Inmates beg to go to prison to get out of county jails.

I'm beginning to think I asked you a very dumb question! :-) County jails are where you go to await trial. And usually, if your sentence is 1 year or less, you stay in the county jail. (Sometimes longer sentences) They are very restrictive. Usually...no smoking, lock down 23 hrs. a day, no work programs. Some are better than others. Prison is usually a breath of fresh air after a few months in county. I'm not speaking from experience but from hearsay. I've never been to prison. (knock on wood) But I have been in several county jails. I hope all that is behind me !!!

I am 46 and I live in Boone, North Carolina. In the mountains. I guess I'm lucky to have made it to this age without going to prison. I was using for about 10 years and I had some close calls. I've still got some unresolved legal issues. My husband also did about 10 years in federal prison. Over here they have state and federal prisons. He got busted for LSD sales, which usually gets turned over to the federal courts. You have to pull 80% before you can earn any good time. He is a completely different person than the Ted that went into prison. We're seperated now because we no longer even know each other. I bet you know what I'm talking about.

Never heard of it. About all I know about Wales is that Princess Di is buried on a man-made island on an estate there. I'm pretty ignorant of anywhere outside the US. I wish I had the means to travel. I'd go EVERYWHERE.LOL.

That would be sooooo cool! I just checked out The Rhondda Valley on the net. I read all about the coal industry there. I saw some amazing pictures. Your home is definetly a place I would like to visit. Nice talking to you, Dale.
