Question For Former Sub Users

Hi,
I am a few weeks off sub and while I feel no WDs to speak of I definitely find my energy is a bit low and I'm very tired. I'm not sure if this is the result of being off sub or the result of the seroquel I'm taking at night.

When I was on the sub, I had a lot of energy and maybe that was masking the seroquel sleepiness during the day???

Just looking for some insight.
Kelly, I think that is a symptom of sub and other opiates...the fatigue will hang around for a while. Please keep me posted, I am learning from you on this...
And, way to go...you are clean...you did it! Now, stay that way...

hi there
i was just wondering what your last dosage was on the sub? my friend in CO is taking 1/2 mg and is really having a hard time going lower. Do you have any advice? As for me, Ive been weaning myself off of 2yrs abuse from lortab, percs, or whatever i could get my hands on--with darvocet. today is my last day-and tomorrow will be my first day w/ nothing and im really nervous.
My last dosage on sub was the smallest I could break the pills into - for about 3 days, then I skipped a day, then went off. I had almost no WDs and mentally I am in good shape but I attribute that to a mood stabilizer I was put on...Although, I've been working about 70 hours a week and commuting 2 hrs each day, so maybe this is why I'm so tired. I usually perk up around 3 pm but I'm beat when I get home at night from work (around 8 or 9 pm)

Just trying to understand if it's due to the Sub/opiates, or my lifestyle!!
Hope it passes soon.
Firesign...I had about a 2 year habit as well, 30-40 percs a day. I would be on for about 3 weeks till my supply ran out, then go through WDs for about a week until I could get more pills. I did this to my body every month...torture.

I won't lie to you and tell you it's going to be easy....if you've never gone CT through WDs, you will feel like crap. Even sometimes tapering doesn't make WDs easier....but it doesn't last forever. You'll feel bad physically for 3 days or so, then it will get better...but the mental part (depression) after that is the toughest. Can you get to a sub doctor or a doctor who can at least prescribe you clonodine for the sweats???

Try to get medical help for the WDs even if you have to go to the ER...it will just make it easier for you.

Good luck
hey kl63
ive been ct for like 2 days and by the 3rd day i would get some pills from someone somehow. i have no dr, just a friend who goes to pain mgmt and gets them every 2 weeks. i told her im cleaning up now. i didnt have a consistent daily amt. sometimes only 1 pill sometimes 10-15 a day. ive stocked up with some sam-e, vitamin b-12, vitamin water, bananas and i bought some percogesic which is tylenol and an antihistamine. never tried it before. do you have any other suggestions? im actually looking forward to getting off all this crap and being "me" again. i hope i can do it.

K,

Fatigue after quitting sub is very common. I found my energy level to be very low. I asked the same question when I jumped off and Gotta have faith and John Dee both had the same symptoms. It does get better over time, a couple of weeks actually.

Glad to hear you doing so well.

all the best,

Redd
thanks Redd, I'm glad to (finally) be clean

Firesign, if you have no issues with blood pressure, my doctor gave me salt pills 1 gram, 4x a day to take for the weakness...they helped a lot

Just prepare yourself mentally to feel like you have the flu and try and rest. Although some on this board may not agree, I'd personally try to knock myself out with tylenol pm (assuming I didn't have kids or have to go to work) to try and sleep through the as much of the first 3 days as possible....

You'll get through it. Hang tough. Being clean is far better than any high...and I was about the worst addict you could come accross...can hardly believe I can say this now!
