Question

This may be a stupid question; but, is codeine an opiate?
Thanks,

Whoops.
We just put my boyfriend behind in his sub withdrawal then. We couldn't figure out why it started getting worse instead of better days (5 to be exact) after stopping. His friend gave him some Tylenol 3's to help with muscle aches and the next day he was in withdrawals that were like Day 1 with his old morphine. We couldn't figure it out so we thought that could be the only reason. I can't believe we didn't know that. He's gotten a little discouraged because of this setback, but he's still fighting.
Just so you know, his withdrawals off the sub were going pretty good (considering) until this mishap. It definitely wasn't as bad as coming off the morphine itself and he was able to sleep at night (not a ton, but enough). He was extremely fatigued and restless though still. But he could deal with that. He was even saying that he wasn't thinking of going back to his morphine at all. Not until today. But this is after the big Tylenol #3 mishap. I feel so bad for him.
Anyway, thanks,
Peace
Mickey
Hi
Codeine converts into morphine, just like heroin. 30mg of codeine is equivalent to 3mgs of morphine. Hope that helps
Paul
Thanks
He stopped taking them as soon as we found out and he's already much better. The restless limbs stopped and he was able to sleep last night. He just has no energy and what he calls a "foggy head" or an "airhead". He has now been taking just some Advil instead and he said it seems to help him much better.
Thanks for the replies.
