Recovery

I would like to know for anyone that has been clean if your brain ever getz back to how it use to be before use of any drugs or alcohol, this includes thought process and memory
What I have found in recovery is that important brain areas such as creativity, the abillity to articulate thoughts and talk are permanantly effected- they were for me. I used to be a chatterbox before I smoked. Have you ever taken a white tissue and breathed smoke onto it? Obviously it become discolored. That same smoke travels (obviously) to the brain. It can't be good. Have you ever tried to clean out a bowl that is two weeks old? Imagine all that resin and tar on top of you brain. I can't really say if you're brain is actually caked is resin, but it would make sense if that is what happens. My main thing about recovery is how to react to serious depression and why it can feel like insurmountable odds against you-all the ugliness that is taken away by the drug and how to react to that ugliness without pot. I am having incredible difficulty staying clean. It can be hell in active addiction and the same hell in recovery. Recovery is always the more noble decision. Things that do come back in recovery are emotions such as rage, hope and at least the idea that a higher power could exist.
