Hey Wendy and Chris and Lisa,

Yesterday was the day I held my son for the first time, I swear it was like my heart started to beat again....its been on pause for a few weeks. It was the best Thanksgiving gift I could ask for, how fitting eh'?

Yesterday as I held him, I realized a few things. First, Jack is supposed to be here and maybe I'm supposed to go through all of this. This can't all be for nothing. I also realized how different my life is now that I'm clean...a second child was out of the question while using (at least I knew that much). I miss that false high, no doubt, I probably always will, but this feeling I have right now for Jack and my older son....nothing else comes close.

I hope all of your Thanksgivings were a good one.

Yep, it's been quite a year for you and all of us here. I am happy to gotten to know you and have enjoyed watching you grow. To see (in my mind) where you are today is just amazing. I couldn't be prouder of you or happier for you. If anyone deserves the love and happiness a new son can bring, it is you.

Wanted to tell you, I met a beautiful little girl today who is 6 years old. She was energetic and healthy and so bubbly! She weighted 2lbs, 2 ozs at birth, but today is the picture of health and happiness. : )

Oh good Tom, you're here. I wanted to say thanks for taking the time in talking with your mom. That really helped to hear things outside of the NICU.

It is amazing how fast he is devoloping. The human body knows what it has to do, even at that tiny, and Jack is just off and running at lightning speed...leaving no prisoners in his wake.

I am so happy you got to hold your precious little boy. Awww, I am so glad he is doing good. I knew he was a fighter like his mama. Did your husband get to hold him to? I just found out a couple days ago that one of my best friend's is pregnant. Her and I grew up in Ohio together and have been friends since we were 9 years old, She is almost 32 and this is her first. Her and I both live in Florida now about 10 minutes away from each other. I am so excited to be a part of this pregnancy with her. I was screaming so loud when she told me I think the neighbor's heard me. Anyway I hope you have a good weekend. Have you taken some pic's of Jack? I know he is tiny and I heard you talking the other day about how you haven't taken a picture yet. Did you change your mind? I think it will be neat to show him one day when he is 6 foot tall that he was so tiny when he was born. Well have a good one Amy I have so much to do today. Happy to hear you had such a good Thanksgiving. You are truly blessed. Rae

I finally did take pictures...for him to see later. I realized I was being selfish in that. I had the still frames in my head, but he won't.

Oh, my husband held him yesterday. There were tears everywhere. That man is a puddle. I think hes having the hardest time out of all of us, I'm on autopilot.
