Hi Guys
Need some support. Havent been on here for ages, used to talk about my pot habit. Did really well. Fell in love!! Just found out he's in hospital after having serious relapse (recovering alcoholic). What am i supposed to think. I dont want to disappear on him but ive been here before with heroin addict, alcoholic parents and a habit of my own. Can i be strong for me and not walk away from this amazing guy that i care so deeply for?

Eventually the addict will take you down, no matter how strong you think you are or will be. It could even cause you to relapse yourself, I know this sounds cut and dry but I've been there and know all to well what happens. Take care of YOU!!

Your partner knows the score if he has been around recovery , He will know that you need your recovery first to be of any help to him second and if you are going to hang in there then put procedures in place to protect you and remember the active alky will say what you want to hear and look sincere so its not a matter of trust but of him earningyour trust again through sober time.
I think you know in your heart what needs to be done but the addict in you wants the uncertainty because it wants to be active.
Follow your heart and hopefully your partner will follow your lead.
