Im not a vet,I missed the draft by a couple of years. However I know many who served and some who payed the ultimate sacrifice.
I take this opportunity to thank all of those who went to Southease Asia years ago, and those who are involved in the mess we have going on now in Iraq and Afganistan

AMEN and say it again, Brother! I've been to Thailand-close enuf to Vietnam, climate& country-wise, also India, climate& countrywise similar to Afghanistan.I was just a backpacker & it was pure-d Hell.Cannot imagine going in as a soldier! We must Thank & Honour Those Who Guard Us While We Sleep. A lotta folks seem to forget that...
Thanks for this post, Jack......I was actually going to post the same thing.

People are enjoying BBQ's, and parades, and such, and don't even recognize what this Holiday is about.

If not for our heroic men, and women past, and present there'd be no picnics or outtings today.........freedom is NOT FREE.......and BTW our children need to learn more American History.............about the wars our heroic soldiers founght in, and especially understand men, and women died so they could be free to worship, party, and listen to their iPods.

Prayers for our Veterans........you are appreciated.

Oh, and a big, big, big place of honor for Audie Murphy.....one of our country's most heroic war hero's.
I served in the United States Army....last summer i went to DC to visit the Vietnam Wall....wore a tee shirt today that i purchased near the Wall that states
"All gave some...some gave All'
MARY
Great shirt, Mary-wish I could find cool stuff like that here...Audie Murphy was awesome. Anyone interested in bravery should read up on the Awarding of The Congressional Medal of Honour...talk about acts of bravery! Some of the stories are quite mad & may make you weep. I did--our gallant British allies have the Victoria Cross & the accounts of their heroisim too, will bring tears to your eyes.We need more History taught, for sure...
