Has anyone experienced restless legs when you first stopped using? It's aweful and keeps you from falling asleep at night.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?
Hey B...
Yes, alot of people get restless legs, its very common while detoxing. I know its difficult but it will go away. It is caused by excessive drug use.
Long hot baths with Epsom's salts and then lots and lots of Johnsons Baby Lotion....I love that stuff and buy it for myself.
Lots of banana's for the potassium, this helps your muscles...it will fade in time.
Take care..and keep on going!

There is also a medication for restless leg syndrom that has helped some here. It's called Requip. You'll need to talk to your dr about it.
This was a post from Chris 36 back about 3 weeks ago.....
Tonigh when I saw grind house with couple of buddies of mine they noticed I was walking slow, i told them it ws because of the elyptical trainer, so a buddy of mine who studies judiztu had me lay on my back and he pushed my legs(while keeping them straight, it hurt like hell during hm doing that, but guess wheat.when he was done no more pain for about 2 hours, i tried ths again when i geot home and it worked as well, wont know if iwill work for you, just wabted to share,
YOu might want to try it. It sure doesn't sound hard to do and it helped one person, at least. Another woman used two heating pads wrapped around her legs. Hope you get some peace. ((((Hugs)))))

This is just my opinion here.....I personally would ride it out. My legs were wacky too for at least a few weeks.
Ask Chris, but I am sure his are fine now as well.
As addicts we must not want to run to a pill for everything that ails us.
I think it is just part of the detox process and will go away! Lets face it....you bought the ticket and now you have to take the ride.
Like I said above...hot baths with Epsom salts was a godsend! Just soak it away.
Hugs to you

Actuallly I wouldn't say my legs are restless, but they still cramp up every now and then, but the pain subsides each time, and just a tiny bit less than before.
Yes, I am still doing leg stretching every night before bed, and call it a plecebo or whatever, it feels so great. What I do is basically lay on the floor, get my a** as close to the wall as possible and put my legs straight up against the wall, dont let them bend an inch. With me I did it for 3 or 4 minutes straight, and yeah it hurt stretching but after I was done I felt so much better. I have posted a photo for what I'm talking about. Wile I'm not that nimble, just do your best to get your bum against the wall and keep em straight. As a matter of fact I'm going to do it right now.
