I to practice centering and meditation. Thanks for the link Geri. I love your new avatar. When I was younger my girlfriend and room mate had a turquoise VW Bug. We would go to Washington Park - Zoo and I would put my roller skates on and she would tow me with a rope down behind her for extra speed and I would be flying down the street. We started at the top of a steep one.

I think we were stoned on MJ. Thankfully, we decided to get drunk later at night. Well not that I'm thankful about getting drunk at night, or being stoned. Just thankful I didn't end up head first onto the pavement, or scraped up to pieces. Yes, to nuts who would do this in bikinis. Of course we loved the attention. The parties we would get invited to. Then it was her turn. Amazing how HP/God has watched over the two of us all these yrs.

That memory came back when I saw your avatar. So do you really drive a VW Bug?

Hope your spirit is beginning to lift into a higher and a happier place. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to you and your girls. I know how trying they can be. You are raising them basically on your own and doing the very best you can. It will pay off because you are setting a fine example of how to live life on life's terms.

Take Care,

Hi there and thanks for the replies.

Chris, Yes I do drive a Bug, it's the 4th one I've had! Before this new Beetle I had a mini-van, yuck (sorry to those of you who drive mini-vans, LOL!) ~ I'll try to get a pic of me sticking my head out of the sunroof or something...I love my new Beetle...it's a 2004 and it's fun & fast....(maybe that's why I rear-ended two cars this past fall, not one but two) and it's kinda dark metallic gunmetal in color....I bought it with all the bells and whistles, even seat and back warmers for God's sake, like I need them in Southern California!

Getting back to the topic though, I haven't been on a retreat in a long time.....I just thought these looked interesting....however we are having our AA Round-up pretty soon, where I hope to attend some workshops....and dances!

The Girls are doing okay, thank you for remembering.....I truly let go and let God and try to work the Families Anonymous program to the best of my ability in regard to my relationship with my daughters.......progress not perfection ; - )
